Summary:
As a Data Engineer, a typical day involves designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive data solutions that support the generation, collection, and processing of data. This role requires creating efficient data pipelines and ensuring the integrity and quality of data throughout its lifecycle. The Data Engineer is responsible for implementing extract, transform, and load processes to facilitate seamless migration and deployment of data across various systems, enabling smooth data flow and accessibility for multiple teams and applications. Collaboration and continuous improvement of data infrastructure are key aspects of daily activities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable data architectures to support business needs.
- Ensure data governance and compliance standards are met within the team s deliverables.
- Mentor junior team members to foster skill development and knowledge sharing.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: PySpark, SQL, Databricks (Delta, DLT/Workflows), Azure data services, Unity Catalog, CI/CD
- Must know - MLflow/Feature Store, Power BI, streaming/CDC, vector search/RAG, Terraform.
- Build and operate scalable Lakehouse pipelines on Databricks/Azure. Own ELT/streaming, Delta Lake optimization, Unity Catalog governance, and CI/CD. Integrate ADLS/ADF/Synapse, and deliver high-quality data sets for BI/ML/GenAI.
- Good To Have Skills: Experience with Microsoft Azure Databricks.
- Strong knowledge of data pipeline orchestration and workflow management tools.
- Experience with cloud-based data storage and processing platforms.
- Ability to optimize data workflows for performance and scalability.
- Familiarity with data modeling, schema design, and database management.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Data Engineering.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
