For many businesses the ability to bring products to market faster, more efficiently and more sustainably is core to their ability to remain competitive. Transforming their engineering and manufacturing functions is critical but the silos that exist between engineering and IT can hamper progress and lead to inefficiencies, duplication of effort and missed opportunities.
Demand for engineering is increasing, with new technologies such as 5G, Cloud and AI driving opportunities to re-invent. But not only do we need more engineers, we need to empower them with digital tools and systems like hyper automation, so they can focus on solving the challenges ahead.
Our engineers love to collaborate to tackle problems and find creative ways to solve them. Using bottom-up, completion-oriented thinking to deliver innovative but pragmatic end-to-end solutions that create real value.
Our Engineering Services capabilities
We continue to grow our capabilities within engineering, most recently adding umlaut, Zielpuls and ESR labs to our Accenture family, who bring deep engineering expertise to help us break down silos and deliver more end-to-end value for our clients.
Our engineers have their hands on the products, designing and engineering new products and services that are both cost efficient and sustainable.
Our model-based systems engineering (MBSE) builds the foundation of systems to focus on the end user experience and gets products to market, faster.
Our experience in embedded software and user experience helps Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) automate processes, gain insight from data and substantially increase efficiency.
Product testing, certification and validation
We test and certify increasingly complex products and services through remote testing, test farms and security testing in an ever-connected world.
We create technical documents quickly, cost efficiently and at high quality, using IT systems and automation and in line with industry regulations.

EMBRAER PHENOM 300MED MEDEVAC SOLUTION
MAKING TECHNICAL PUBLICATION VERIFICATION SIMPLER
DEVICE FARMS FOR TESTING
ACCELERATE AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE DEVELOPMENT
Embraer, a leading aircraft manufacturer wanted to transform their best-selling light jet, the Phenom300 series aircraft to create a top-of-the-line MedEvac solution.
Together, we (formerly as umlaut) and Embraer developed and certified a new supplemental type certificate (STC) utilizing Aerolite equipment. With a comprehensive set of configuration alternatives and hospital-grade trim and finishing. As a purpose-built MedEvac solution, the Phenom 300MED is designed to be quickly and easily configured to meet the needs of both healthcare providers and patients.
The certification included extensive analyses of the Medical Oxygen System and of the new interior components, as well as an evacuation test. The Phenom 300MED, has received the STC from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Manufacturers and operators of aircraft and equipment produce large numbers of technical manuals for their air and ground crews, which are constantly revised as and when the customer makes new procedures, or modifications to the existing models.
Most aircraft manuals are written in Simplified Technical English (STE), developed to help users understand what they read, in order to avoid misinterpretations and mistakes. However, the possibility of human error through manual checking is higher as the authors need to spend extensive time proofreading.
We (formerly as umlaut) developed an automated solution for verifying the contents of the manuals using AI, Machine Learning and Neuro Linguistic Programming to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the process of writing the technical manuals. The tool helps the check for most of the STE rules, generic English grammar, spelling, and other necessary standards applicable when creating the manuals.
The deployment of new software versions on hardware is a key enabler for many engineering teams as we move towards more products being software-defined. Timely and efficient testing is key to bringing those products and updates to market faster. Powered by the cloud, Device farms can help cut effort and cost in software and hardware development, making them efficient and highly scalable.
Idle times reduced - one device can be shared with multiple developers, testers, functional owners and stakeholders
Smarter maintenance and higher quality via the Cloud
Remote testing – helps reduce cost and dependency on location
Analysis of centralized data for optimization in the testing and development process
We (formerly as umlaut) developed and operate our own Device Farm technology to help with automotive infotainment development & testing. This means we help reduce the manual effort for testing required, integrate with the development and testing activities of our clients and help increase efficiency to ultimately increase speed to market.
Cars are moving from having some electric and software components to becoming a software-driven platform with different pieces of hardware.
We (formerly as umlaut) have created the Automated Driving Engineering Platform, ADEP, an ecosystem of different software and hardware elements that helps OEMs and suppliers speed up the development of components for connected autonomous vehicles.
It enables our clients to rapidly prototype use cases, have iterative feedback loops and do performance and safety evaluations to comply with regulations in different countries.
Within this is also the Mobile Data Acquisition Platform, MDAP, a vehicle-based sensing system that gathers data to help improve safety and efficiency in various scenarios e.g. helping smart vehicles communicate with each other and adapt to traffic flows. When not used on vehicles, MDAP monitors how employees and robots interact with machinery in factories so safety procedures and workflows can be adapted for greater efficiency.
