Candidate is expected to be highly technical on Oracle Database field related to production and test databases. Details below
Responsible with managing and maintaining availability, integrity and security of databases in scope
Implement, schedule and monitor daily backups and periodical restores of databases in administration, accordingly with in place backup policy
Proactively monitors performance and availability of the databases and participate in or propose tuning of the databases performance when is the case
Assure proper and fast incidents resolution and support escalation
Provide recommendations for software upgrades for databases in responsibility, to keep and be able to maintain best vendor support for it.
Manage, monitor and evaluate Oracle Databases software needs and make recommendations for optimizations and change requests, in order to maximize availability and performance.
Implements new database software installation and configurations, in accordance with required projects specifications and internal guidelines.
Perform databases upgrades, requested backups and restores as well as successful migrations to same or different technology, when required.
Implements business continuity solutions for databases in scope
Directly communicate with other teams infrastructure or applications for quick resolution of services disruption.
Qualifications
Requirements
Solid and provable skills in Oracle database administration Four plus years of experience in an enterprise environment
Experience with PL SQL
Good knowledge of Linux UNIX. Shell scripting experience desired.
Passion for analysis and troubleshooting.
Good listening and quick learning
Ability to communicate fluent, clearly and concisely in English interface directly with internal and external clients and support
Availability for working in shifts or off working hours on call and off base sites.
Technical University degree
