The work

Transform our clients into Data Driven Enterprises and help them manage and govern data, unlock business value from data assets and define new business models. As a Data Governance Manager, you will be managing inspiring client projects focused on the management of data as a strategic asset. You will manage project teams which are setting up structured and high-quality data foundations and guiding our clients to the next level of maturity in becoming a data-driven organization.  

  • People You will guide and manage multidisciplinary project teams which will be the linking pin between different business functions and IT stakeholders in which data-driven related topics are centralized. You act as a mentor for the people in our team and coach them on their career development as well as build and grow the team, actively developing core Data Management skills and shaping the teams’ strategic direction. You will report to the main counterparts of our clients and will be part of important steerco sessions. You will work closely with clients including Chief Data Officers (CDO), Chief Information Officers (CIO), Product Owners, IT & system architects, business solution architects, data engineers, data specialists, master data management specialists and business analysts.  
  • Processes You will consult and manage projects that focus on assessing, designing and improving the client’s data governance related processes and workflows to collect, organize, protect, store and share data more effectively. Your daily work will include data-driven storytelling and data strategy and building client relationships to foster trust, co-create value and build the Accenture brand. You provide thought leadership on projects around strategic data management & governance solutions to contribute to achieving the organizational objectives. 
  • Technology You will evaluate, recommend, select, and implement data management tools and technologies. These technologies can be used for capturing and store metadata, measure data quality, define the data lineage & governance. As a Data Governance Manager, you will manage projects which involve working with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, Data Catalogs, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, Data Visualization tools and much more. Tools your team will work with can be Alteryx, Azure, Informatica, Collibra, Salesforce, SAP, Snowflake, PowerBI, Tableau 
  • Data As a Data Governance Manager, you assess the Data Governance maturity together with client teams. Subsequently you come up with concepts and implementation of data, analytics, and governance solutions to address the challenges faced by our clients.

Qualifications

Here's what you'll need

  • You have a master’s degree in a (technical) business study like: Business Information Management, Business Analytics, Business Administration/Economics, Econometrics or similar;  
  • You are fluent in Dutch (B2) and English (C1);  
  • 5+ years working in a consulting capacity, or project management type roles helping clients make their companies work more data-driven 
  • You are a data governance expert (SME) and strategist with strong analytical and project management skills  
  • You are a team player and wants to achieve great results together  
  • You have great communication skills and a strategic mindset  
  • You are motivated, ambitious, and willing to learn new skills to advance in your career  
  • You want to share your knowledge and experiences and let others develop their skills 

Bonus points to have

  • Data Management & Governance (maturity assessment, data strategy, data governance organization model, data modeling, data quality, master data management (MDM) / PIM solutions) 
  • Process Automation, Machine Learning, and/or Artificial Intelligence practices (knowledge of how advancing digital tools and techniques are applied in enterprise data and analytics strategies and roadmaps) 
  • Professional experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams, building a practice, and developing the skills of a team 
  • You have certifications in DAMA-DMBOK (Data Management Body of Knowledge) 
  • Proven track-record in business development (e.g., creating value propositions, responding to RFPs) 
  • You have experience with using data (science) and/or AI to help organizations achieving their goals
