"I work with my team to deliver the most appropriate technology solutions to the client."
I started at Accenture as an intern in an SAP implementation project, where I took up a data migration role for various SAP modules. I worked with a team of functional consultants and developers to ensure that we carried out the client’s data migration accurately and timely.
Currently, I deal with developing technology solutions the client needs. This includes analyzing the business, identifying its pain points, delivering suitable solutions to fill these gaps and providing consultative advice for the client’s business goals.

For every project, the team usually stations at the client’s office so we can interact with the client, study and understand the client’s business process. This allows us to identify the client’s pain points more accurately.
The project team is typically made up of members with different backgrounds: project managers, functional consultants and developers. Depending on the project’s requirements, we also work with other internal teams and specialists based out of Singapore.
Project teams here tend to become close-knit as we need to collaborate effectively to deliver the demands of the project. While it is true that there are long working hours, (depending on which phase you are in the project life cycle) the process is enriching. Everyone is supportive and there is a strong culture of community.
The most exciting project I’ve had to date was implementing a real estate management module for the client. The module helped keep track of all the client’s contracts and to support the client’s compliance with the International Financial Reporting Standard 16 (IFRS 16).
It was exciting for me as I was involved in the requirements gathering sessions and we got to design the entire solution for the client. This activated my problem-solving skills and I was able to analyze the project from different perspectives.
Exposure is one of the key factors that drew me into Accenture. I frequently get data migration or SAP logistics functional roles that require me to learn relevant skills either from project team members or from Accenture’s internal learning portal. I’ve just signed up for an SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Accelerator course, which will help me gain knowledge in SAP IBP and its different modules.
That said, I make sure to balance my full schedule by spending time away from work and recharging my batteries. On weekends and holidays, I go on open sea fishing trips to nearby countries, where I get to relax and enjoy nature.
