Business Consultant — Workforce Software Implementation
As a Management Level 8 Business Consultant specialising in Workforce Software implementation, you will play a pivotal role in delivering workforce management transformation for clients across a range of industries. You will combine deep product knowledge with strong consulting skills to design and deploy solutions that optimise scheduling, time and attendance, absence management, and labour analytics. This senior role requires a blend of technical configuration expertise, business process acumen, and confident client leadership.
In this role you will
- Lead the full implementation lifecycle for Workforce Software, acting as the senior functional lead for client engagements.
- Partner with client HR, Operations, and IT teams to understand workforce management challenges and define optimised future-state solutions.
- Facilitate discovery workshops and process mapping sessions to capture scheduling rules, leave policies, pay rules, and compliance requirements.
- Design and configure Workforce Software modules including Time & Attendance, Scheduling, Absence Management, Forecasting, and Analytics.
- Develop integration designs for connections between Workforce Software and payroll, HRIS, and ERP platforms.
- Manage UAT cycles, coordinate test scripts and defect resolution, and drive client sign-off activities.
- Produce high-quality project artefacts including functional specifications, configuration workbooks, data migration plans, and training content.
- Support data migration activities including extraction, transformation, and validation of historical time and attendance records.
- Provide hyper-care support post-go-live and ensure effective knowledge transfer to client system administrators.
- Contribute to internal capability building through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and participation in practice development initiatives.
- Support business development by contributing to RFP responses, solution demonstrations, and client workshops during the pre-sales process.
We are looking for experience in the following skills
- Hands-on implementation experience with Workforce Software (WorkForce Suite / EmpCenter) or equivalent enterprise WFM platforms such as UKG, Kronos, or Ceridian Dayforce.
- Strong understanding of workforce management concepts including pay rule configuration, scheduling algorithms, leave accruals, and labour law compliance.
- Proven ability to gather and document complex business requirements and translate them into functional design specifications.
- Experience configuring time and attendance rules, shift patterns, overtime policies, and absence entitlements within a WFM platform.
- Familiarity with integration frameworks connecting WFM tools to payroll, HR, and ERP systems.
- Solid project delivery experience, with the ability to manage workstreams, track milestones, and proactively manage risks.
- Strong data skills, including experience with data mapping, transformation, and validation during system implementations.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with confidence presenting to senior client stakeholders and operational teams.
- Experience supporting testing phases including SIT, UAT, and parallel run activities.
- Knowledge of relevant employment legislation, award interpretation, or enterprise agreements relevant to WFM configuration is highly desirable.

- Experience delivering WFM implementations within complex, multi-site, or heavily unionised environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities across multiple client engagements simultaneously.
- Exposure to workforce analytics and reporting configuration, including labour cost dashboards and compliance reporting.
- Experience supporting cloud migration or version upgrade projects for WFM platforms.
- Strong commercial instinct with the ability to identify and manage scope changes professionally.
- Background in operational environments (retail, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics) that strengthens appreciation of workforce management challenges.
- A consultative mindset with the ability to challenge assumptions, propose innovative solutions, and build lasting client relationships.
