JOB DESCRIPTION
Have you developed a reputation for your ability to strategize, analyze, design and implement important ecommerce initiatives?  Do clients rely on you to create and communicate the detailed technology architecture and implementation strategy for the solution? If leading technical teams through the design and development of complex transactional systems sounds like a challenge you want to tackle, then we want to meet you.
 
Application Architect
While there will never be a typical day at Accenture Interactive, we’ve highlighted a few of your exciting responsibilities.
  • Lead large-scale ecommerce implementations, such as hybris, Oracle/ATG, Sterling Order Management, Manhattan Associates, Demandware, Intershop, and IBM Websphere Commerce providing both oversight and hands on contributions to the software design, development, and integration
  • Independently lead the estimation effort for a project 
  • Participate in the development of conceptual and logical architectures
  • Design, develop and maintain application architectures that support client’s business requirements 
  • Resolve integration and interfacing issues between various back-end systems
  • Optimize application performance and scalability
  • Assist Project Leadership conduct project risk identification and mitigation planning
  • Provide support to the sales effort on new business development pursuits, assisting with RFP responses, architecture assessments and technical qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in application architecture and Java/J2EE software development
  • 3+ years of experience developing ecommerce applications
  • Able to meet Minimum travel requirements (Monday - Thursday), up to 75% where applicable
  • Experience in application architecture / enterprise architecture, systems integration and development, and package implementation with knowledge of interactive design
  • Experience working with relevant eCommerce packaged solutions such as hybris, Oracle/ATG, Sterling Order Management, Manhattan Associates, Demandware, Intershop and IBM WebSphere Commerce
  • Firm understanding of web application design and analysis, design patterns, and object oriented design
  • Architect and design large-scale marketing platform implementations with Adobe AEM and the Adobe Marketing Cloud
  • Lead the development of logical and physical architectures in a team setting, typically using a distributed Agile approach
  • Experience with Single-Page-Application (SPA) style sites or components.
  • Experience with integration into eCommerce systems such as Hybris, Oracle/ATG, and various back-end systems
  • Independently lead the estimation effort for the technology implementation
  • Align application architectures with client’s business requirements 
  • Optimize application architecture for performance and scalability
  • Assist Project Leadership conduct project risk identification and mitigation planning
  • Provide support to the sales effort on new business development pursuits, assisting with RFP responses, architecture assessments and technical qualifications
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to facilitate team and client meetings effectively and to deliver constructive feedback
  • Experience in multiple web technologies including: XML, HTML, CSS, AJAX / JavaScript, Web Services/SOAP, SQL
  • Experience with one or more Java concepts and patterns including: Java/J2EE, JSP, Spring, Sling, JMS, JUnit, AOP, MVC, Eclipse
  • Working knowledge of multiple web and application tier technologies:  Tomcat, WebSphere, Weblogic, Apache Http, Spring tcServer, Solr, open source packages
  • Experience with project automation technology: Jenkins, Continuum, Hudson, automated unit testing, Maven, Ant
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with client senior management
  • Experience in a consulting environment with demonstrated track record of continuing responsibilities, creativity and innovation 
  • Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, MIS or related field
