A professional at this position level within Accenture has the following responsibilities:
  • Identifies, assesses and solves complex business problems for area of responsibility, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Closely follows the strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near-term goals
  • Interacts with senior level (C-suite, SVP, VP, etc.) clients and/or within Accenture on matters where they may need to gain acceptance on an alternate approach
  • Has some latitude in decision-making
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures to deliver against assignments
  • Decisions have a major day-to-day impact on area of responsibility
  • Manages large-to-medium sized teams of diverse backgrounds, skill sets and technical/functional knowledge and/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) at a client or within Accenture
 
Specific responsibilities may include:
  • Support and/or lead client engagements that may involve model development, validation, governance, risk strategy, transformation, implementation and end-to-end delivery of risk management solutions
  • Advise clients on a wide range of credit, market and/or operational risk management analytics initiatives
  • Manage engagement risk, project economics including planning and budgeting, manage account receivables, define deliverable content, ensure buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client
  • Develop and maintain contact with C-level clients, be an internal and external trusted advisor on business needs and issues/challenges/needs/gaps, diagnosing the root problems, and recommending an approach, leveraging Accenture assets
  • Identify and support business development initiatives; participate in and lead all aspects of the proposal development process
  • Contribute to development of Accenture Points-of-View on a variety of Risk Analytics topics
  • Develop thought capital and disseminate information around current and emerging trends
  • Maintain an understanding of advancements in technology and innovations which are happening across Risk Analytics, related CFO/CRO ecosystem, and broader financial services marketplace
  • Minimum 10 years of prior Management Consulting experience focused on the Financial Services industry
  • Solid project management experience including: defining scope, setting project timelines and milestone, driving deliverables, identifying risks, managing issues, project economics and client relationship management)
Minimum 10 years of experience with:
 
  • Credit, market, liquidity, or operational risk analytics (e.g., model development, strategy and framework, scorecard development, model documentation, model validation, model governance, model implementation, integration and automation) etc.)
  • Exposure to retail, commercial and/or Capital Market portfolios, including: commercial lending, asset-based lending, treasury services and investment banking OR capital markets, insurance, wholesale/retail lending, deposits, etc.
  • Risk regulatory trends in Canada, principles and practices (e.g., OSFI guidance on stress testing, capital management (MCT), ORSA etc.), Internal Capital Reporting, Capital Planning, Risk Weighted Assets, etc.)
  • SAS or Matlab. Exposure and/or proficiency to other analytical tools such as R, SQL, C++, VBA, Murex, Calypso, Numerix, etc. desirable
  • Model development/quantitative skills should include any combination of the following: multivariate regression models, transition matrices, stochastic processes, econometric models, neural networks, Monte Carlo., etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with credit/market risk type models (e.g., ALLL, PD/LGD, Roll Rate, VAR, SVAR etc.)
  • Exposure to commercial, commercial real estate, credit card, mortgage, retail and/or trading book
  • Demonstrated understanding of the unique components and behaviors of those portfolios noted above processes, such as loan origination and underwriting; credit policies; portfolio management, allowance for loan and lease losses; loan review and remediation.
  • Effective team management and leadership skills (must have prior experience leading a project team)
  • Prior experience qualifying potential opportunities and negotiating complex deals
  • Experience within the commercial banking division of a universal bank, wholesale bank or rating agency
  • Data management experience (e.g., extracting, aggregating and structuring large volumes of data, etc.) in the context of analytics
  • Strong understanding of front and back office operations desirable
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), facilitation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with clients individually and as a member of an engagement team
  • Ability to translate Risk Analytics requirements into business terms for executive stakeholders
  • Demonstrated team management and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage dynamic consulting projects with heavy client engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to understand client needs, develop proposed solutions and deliver high impact change initiatives
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment and structured decision-making
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects/assignments/responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high energy and demanding team-oriented environment (both with clients and within the organization)
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Desire to work in an information systems environment
  • Strong desire to work in the management consulting industry and deep interest in financial services
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian
