WEF Known Traveller Digital ID
Known Traveller Digital Identity or KTDI is a World Economic Forum initiative that brings together a global consortium of individuals, governments, authorities and the travel industry to enhance security in world travel. The pilot, scheduled to go live in early 2020, leverages cryptography, blockchain technology and biometrics and aims to allow cross-border travel without presenting physical documents, accelerating the flow of passengers through airports, improving passenger experience, and enabling authorities to better focus limited resources on security improvements.
The Known Traveller Digital Identity, or KTDI, is a public/private collaboration that enhances security efforts, while enabling a connected journey for today’s international traveller. See more.
The World Economic Forum is both sounding the alarm of the paradigm shift in Identity and providing the frameworks to address these challenges and opportunities. Learn more with our white papers published in collaboration with WEF.

Building a trusted identity on blockchain
As part of the ID2020 partnership, we have developed a unique digital identity prototype to modernize identity management for organizations and individuals. Leveraging the power of blockchain and biometrics, the system makes establishing, tracking and maintaining digital identities more efficient, user friendly, secure and less open to fraud.
The system makes life easier for organizations in that it is interoperable with other databases, so existing data remains in original locations. Attestations are immutable, providing trust for background checks. The system will work with mobile, connected or standalone devices.

Traditional processes have not changed in decades, while expectations and technology continue to grow. Digital life is here but identity processes continue to rely on paper documents. A blockchain enabled digital identity may assist in critical areas:
Securing new models
Desire to build a more personalized relationship and offerings with the consumer but need to ensure the person is really who they claim they are.
Protecting against fraud
Identity fraud is growing, and cyber-attacks are now normal. Organizations and consumers need to know their data is safe.
Regulations on data privacy are getting more stringent globally, making compliance difficult and expensive to manage.
