Location: Melbourne (preferred), Brisbane, Sydney

Employment Type: Full-Time. Fixed term 10-month parental leave backfill.

Role Overview

As a Mid-Level HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in driving core HR processes, managing employee relations, and supporting change initiatives across your assigned practice and from time to time across Avanade Australia more broadly.  You will work closely with Practice Leads and team members to deliver strategic and operational HR support, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance with Australian employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities

HR Process Management

  • Lead and coordinate key HR processes including Performance Achievement, Talent Management (with a focus on productivity), Onboarding, and oversight of HR Operations.
  • Drive employee engagement programs and initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Deliver accurate and timely HR reporting and insights to support business decisions.

Employee Relations

  • Manage all employee relations matters for your practice including performance management, investigations, exit management, restructures, and work roster planning.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation, including modern awards and Fair Work requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and support on complex employee relations issues including case management of WHS matters.

Change Management Support

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of change initiatives scheduled for 2026.
  • Develop and implement change management and communication materials to support Avanade’s business transformation agenda
  • Act as a change advocate, supporting leaders and employees through transition periods.

Leadership Coaching & Employee Support

  • Provide coaching and guidance to Practice Leads on leadership effectiveness and employee lifecycle events.
  • Support team members across the business with HR advice and resolution of employee matters.
  • Manage the I & D networks assisting with promoting events & initiatives.

HR Improvement & Best Practice

  • Identify and implement HR process improvements to enhance efficiency and business value.
  • Champion continuous improvement and adoption of HR best practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related field, or extensive experience as an HR Business Partner in large complex organisation(s).
  • Demonstrated experience in a progressive HR setting in a mid-level business partnering capacity
  • Experience managing employee relations matters including investigations, performance management, and restructuring.
  • Proven track record in delivering HR projects and initiatives across the employee lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and developing communication materials.
  • Sound and up to date understanding of Australian employment legislation, including modern awards and Fair Work Act compliance.
  • Experience working in a complex global organisation or matrixed organisation is highly desirable.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness in HR operations and documentation.
  • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively, both regionally and locally across Avanade and including Accenture HR CoE’s. Fostering alignment, knowledge sharing, and integrated HR solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proactive in identifying opportunities for process enhancement and innovation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to build trusted relationships with leaders and employees across the Avanade business as well as with Accenture Human Resources Team.
  • Problem Solving: Skilled in resolving complex employee relations issues with sound judgment and empathy and able to recognise when to escalate for expert assistance.
