Role Requirements

Key Responsibilities:


Solution Design & Architecture:

  • Lead the end-to-end design of complex network solutions, encompassing LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Center Networks, Cloud Networking (AWS, Azure, GCP), and security components.

  • Translate high-level business requirements and technical specifications into detailed network architectures, designs, and implementation plans.

  • Develop and maintain network architecture standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Evaluate and recommend new network technologies, products, and services to enhance performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Create comprehensive architectural documentation, including design specifications, network diagrams, and bills of materials.

Technical Leadership & Guidance:

  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to network engineers and other technical teams.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for network-related technologies and best practices.

  • Lead technical discussions with internal stakeholders, clients, and vendors.

  • Participate in strategic planning for future network evolution and capacity planning.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, security, applications, and project management to ensure seamless integration and delivery of network solutions.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.

  • Engage with vendors and partners to evaluate new technologies and ensure optimal solutions.

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:

  • Act as an escalation point for complex network issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for network incidents and propose preventative measures.

Project Management Support:

  • Provide architectural oversight and support throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to post-implementation review.

  • Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and risk management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering and at least 5+ years in a network solution architect role, designing and implementing large-scale enterprise networks.

Deep expertise in a wide range of networking protocols and technologies, including:

  • Routing & Switching: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, STP, VLANs, VRF.

  • Data Center Networking: Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, Software-Defined Networking (SDN) concepts.

  • Wireless Networking: Wi-Fi 6/6E, Cisco Meraki, Aruba.

  • Security: Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), VPNs (IPsec, SSL), NAC, IDS/IPS, Zero Trust principles.

  • Cloud Networking: Experience with designing and implementing network solutions in at least one major cloud provider (AWS VPC, Azure VNet, Google Cloud Networking).

  • Load Balancing/Application Delivery: F5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC.

  • Network Automation & Orchestration: Python, Ansible, Terraform, Scripting.

  • Network Monitoring & Management: SNMP, NetFlow, SYSLOG, centralized monitoring tools.

Certifications (highly desirable):

  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) - R&S, Data Center, or Security.

  • Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE).

  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate or Expert.

  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).

  • Fortinet NSE 4/7/8.

  • ITIL Foundation.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Excellent written communication skills for creating clear and concise documentation.

  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
