Summary:
In the role of Custom Software Engineering Lead, a typical day involves overseeing the technical direction and architectural design of bespoke software solutions tailored to specific client needs. This position requires guiding and mentoring teams through various stages of software development, from initial design concepts to final delivery. The role emphasizes maintaining high standards in development practices, ensuring that the software produced is scalable, performs efficiently, and aligns closely with the overarching business goals. Collaboration and strategic decision-making are integral parts of daily activities, fostering innovation and quality within the team environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Lead design and implementation of BMS core algorithms advanced SOC SOH estimation Adaptive EKF UKF physics based electrochemical model thermal runaway prediction and remaining useful life RUL estimation
2. Drive motor control software development MTPA Maximum Torque Per Ampere optimization flux weakening for high speed operation loss minimization control and sensor less motor control BEMF observer flux observer
3. Lead OBC control software multi-mode charging slow AC fast DC bidirectional V2G power factor correction PFC control LLC resonant converter digital control and grid code compliance
4. Implement ISO 1511820 application layer AC bidirectional charging BPT wireless charging communication WPT and dynamic wireless charging DWC session management
5. Design Vehicle Energy Management System VEMS algorithms predictive range estimation GPS traffic aware regenerative braking energy recuperation auxiliary load management and power split optimization for PHEV
6. Mentor engineers in electrification algorithm development AUTOSAR SWC design and safety mechanism implementation
7. Interface with OEM Tier1 client powertrain and energy management teams for feature requirements review algorithm parameter calibration and delivery milestone sign off
8. Lead ASILD safety software design reviews software safety requirement allocation safety mechanism peer review and confirmation measure coordination
9. Experience in ASPICE Level 23 development processes for electrification software and ISO 26262 lifecycle workflow management
10. Contribute to technical proposals and electrification demo development for new programmer engagement opportunities


Professional & Technical Skills:
1. Must Have Advanced C C and MATLAB Simulink proficiency with electrification algorithm development experience in BMS or motor control
2. Must Have Hands on experience in BMS algorithm development SOC SOH SOE estimation cell balancing and thermal management control
3. Must Have Strong motor control expertise FOC PMSM IPMSM SVPWM MTPA flux weakening and regenerative braking control
4. Must Have Experience with ISO 26262 ASILD software safety requirements safety mechanisms and confirmation measure activities
5. Must Have Knowledge of ISO 15118220 charging protocol implementation EXI encoding decoding PLC HomePlug Green PHY TLS 12 13
6. Must Have AUTOSAR Classic SWC design experience with RTE configuration for electrification ECU software components
7. Must Have Strong debugging skills oscilloscope-based inverter waveform analysis CAN trace analysis and battery data logging
8. Good to Have Experience with physics-based battery modelling single particle model SPM pseudo 2D P2D model and ageing models
9. Good to Have Knowledge of PHEV HEV energy management rule based ECMS Equivalent Consumption Minimization Strategy or DP optimization
10. Good to Have Familiarity with wireless charging WPT systems SAE J2954 IEC 61980 and foreign object detection FOD algorithm
11. Good to Have Exposure to SiC MOSFET gate driver design considerations and software based dead time compensation algorithms
12. Good to Understand battery cell chemistry differences NMC LFP NCA LTO and their impact on BMS algorithm calibration


Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum six to 10 years of experience in Automotive Electrification xEV Embedded Systems BMS Motor Control OBC or Powertrain domain.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
