Summary:
We re looking for an automation-first engineer who can operate across both application and infrastructure layers—similar to our US-based systems team.
In this role, you will own customer environments end-to-end, ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency. Your focus will be on eliminating manual work through automation and leveraging AI tools to accelerate troubleshooting and operations.
You will work closely with our SRE team, who manage shared platform reliability and core infrastructure, while you focus on customer-specific environments.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Own customer environments across application and infrastructure layers (configs, deployments, patching, scaling)
Execute and automate runbook-driven tasks (SQL scripts, queue management, data fixes, restores)
Build automation using PowerShell, Python, and GitHub Actions to convert manual processes into self-service workflows
Use AI tools (Copilot, Claude AI) for code generation, log analysis, and faster root cause analysis
Monitor system health using Datadog (APM, logs, dashboards, monitors)
Respond to alerts via on-call tools (PagerDuty, Opsgenie, ServiceNow) and ensure timely incident resolution
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents across both application and infrastructure layers
Partner with SRE to ensure overall platform reliability
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
Document processes and mentor junior engineers
Continuously identify and eliminate operational toil through automation

Professional & Technical Skills:
Automation Mindset: You instinctively automate repetitive tasks and improve processes
OS Administration:
o Windows Server (RDP, IIS, Services, Task Scheduler)
o Linux (SSH, systemctl, bash, cron)
Database Operations: Strong SQL skills (SSMS, backups, restores, troubleshooting, data fixes)
Monitoring & Incident Response:
o Hands-on experience with Datadog (APM, logs, dashboards, monitors)
o Experience with on-call/incident tools like PagerDuty, Opsgenie, or ServiceNow
o Strong alert triaging and incident handling skills
Configuration Management: XML, JSON, property files
Scripting & Automation: PowerShell, Python, or Bash
AI-Assisted Development: Comfortable using tools like Copilot to write/debug code and accelerate troubleshooting
Infrastructure Fundamentals:
o Cloud (AWS/Azure basics)
o Server resizing, patching
o Networking basics (TLS/certificates, load balancing)
o Web servers (IIS, Apache Tomcat)
Version Control: Git and GitHub workflows
Incident Management: Ability to troubleshoot under pressure across app + infra layers
Process Discipline: Strong attention to detail follows and improves runbooks

Nice to Have
Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible)
Familiarity with AI/ML-based observability or predictive alerting
Experience in teams that blend engineering and operations responsibilities

Experience
5–10 years in systems, operations, or platform engineering roles
Hands-on experience across both application and infrastructure domains
Proven experience in production support, monitoring, and incident management
Strong interest in using AI to reduce operational effort and improve system reliability
