Summary:
As a Materials Engineer, your day involves developing and selecting appropriate materials to ensure that components and systems achieve their intended performance, safety, and sustainability objectives. You will analyze various material properties and design solutions that enhance durability and efficiency. Your role includes overseeing rigorous testing and quality assurance processes throughout the product lifecycle. You will address complex challenges such as corrosion, wear, and thermal behavior, working closely with professionals from different engineering disciplines to deliver practical and cost-effective outcomes that meet project requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Handle material, process and testing qualification requests via appropriate tools and established processes
- Handle Incidents related to the above.
- Good to have interest and knowledge in supporting System standard parts and its qualifications for commercial aerospace applications.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in A&D Commercial Aerospace.
- Experience with material characterization techniques and testing protocols relevant to aerospace applications.
- Strong understanding of material behavior under various environmental and operational conditions.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data related to corrosion, wear, and thermal properties.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing aerospace materials.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to develop innovative and cost-effective material solutions.

Academically from the Metallurgical and materials engineering Background.
In-depth knowledge of Aluminium, Steel, Titanium and Nickel alloys.
In-depth knowledge of Ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, failure analysis.
Sound knowledge of material processes such as Casting, Forging, Rolling, Sheet metal processing, Extrusion, Welding, Surface technology and Additive manufacturing.
Hands-on experience in material or product testing & characterization like Tensile, Compression, Bearing, Impact, Fatigue, Fracture toughness, Fatigue crack growth, R-curve, Hardness, Metallography, NDT, Corrosion analysis (SCC, EXCO etc.), understanding of test equipment & other quality testing tools.
Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes and surface treatments, chemical processes (viz. anodizing, coating).
Familiarity with industry specifications (ASTM, ISO, AMS etc.) / material and manufacturing specifications including Qualification aspects.
Hands-on experience of statistical analysis and good command on excel.
Good understanding and reading ability of part s (2D) drawings.
Identification of process and product risk during feasibility review.
