As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by investigating and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. The position demands collaboration with different teams to maintain system stability and deliver timely solutions, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of business processes.
Role Description:
Define and drive the overall test strategy for data pipelines on Google BigQuery and Cloud Composer.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain test automation for data validation, pipelines, and integrations.
Lead and mentor an offshore QA/SDET team.
Contribute to data engineering work (BigQuery SQL, Composer DAGs, pipeline enhancements) when capacity allows.
Required Skills:
Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Python, and Cloud Composer / Airflow.
Strong background in test automation frameworks (e.g., PyTest).
Solid understanding of insurance business fundamentals (policies, claims, underwriting, etc.).
Experience working with or leading offshore teams.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to have: Experience with CI/CD, data quality tools, or broader GCP components.
