Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, you will engage in the development of custom software solutions that are designed to meet specific business needs. Your typical day will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, code, and enhance various components across systems or applications. You will utilize modern frameworks and agile practices to ensure the delivery of scalable and high-performing solutions, while also addressing any challenges that arise during the development process. Your role will require a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in software development practices.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- OCI Pre-Migration Consulting.
- Pre-Migration Assessment.
- Migration Coordination and Performance Tuning / Advisory Support.
- Collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Continuously evaluate and improve development processes to increase efficiency.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Pre-Migration Consulting:
- Approach the Application Customers, prepare and plan the migrations to OCI Cloud.
- Tracking and Reporting of Migration Status to Application Teams periodically.
Pre-Migration Assessment:
- Architectural Review of Application and current Database Model.
- Run the application databases via Oracle Estate Explorer tool. Estate Explorer provides estate analysis, scores database readiness for Autonomous Database migrations, prioritizes least-effort database migrations, suggests remediation for premigration tasks, and provides cost comparisons for target OCI Database environments.
- Approach the Application Customers, share the pre-migration analysis and provide suggestions / advisory support on the target OCI Database Environment setup and prepare the Application for the migration.
Migration Coordination and Performance Tuning / Advisory Support:
- Coordination with required parties (Server, Network, etc.,) as needed during Test and Production Migration.
- If the Test migration is successful (also in terms of Performance and Latency).
- Inform Application team to perform Application-Level Performance Testing.
- Plan the Production Migration and Switch over / Go-Live plan to Oracle Cloud.
- If the Test migration is unsuccessful and encountering Performance and Latency Issues.
- Analysis, debugging and fixing of the Performance (Tuning and Advisory support) and Latency Issues should be carried out
- Inform the Application team for review post fixing of the issues.
Additional Information:
- 7+ years of experience in oracle and cloud technologies.
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architecture.
- This position is based at our Hyderabad office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
