Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, you will engage in the development of custom software solutions that are designed to meet specific business needs. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. You will utilize modern frameworks and agile practices to ensure the delivery of scalable and high-performing solutions, while also addressing any challenges that arise during the development process. Your role will require a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in software development practices.
Roles & Responsibilities:
-Manage incidents, problems, and change requests related to account reconciliations, journal entries, task management, and close automation within SLA timelines.
-Support BlackLine modules including Account Reconciliations, Journal Entry, Task Management, and Transaction Matching (as applicable).
-Analyze and resolve production issues related to reconciliation breaks, data mismatches, workflow failures, and close process delays.
-Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring BlackLine-related issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
-Support integration between BlackLine and SAP FI (GL, AP, AR) including data loads, mappings, and validation.
-Assist in minor enhancements, configuration changes, testing, and validation impacting BlackLine and close processes.
-Support period-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles, ensuring timely completion of reconciliation and close activities.
-Maintain process documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge articles for ATR BlackLine AMS support.
Professional & Technical Skills:
-Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or Information Technology.
-10–11 years of experience in ATR / Record to Report, with hands-on exposure to BlackLine.
-Experience working in AMS / Production Support environments with SLA-driven delivery.
-Strong understanding of financial close, reconciliations, and accounting controls.
-Experience supporting global finance users and close teams.
Additional Information:
-Strong functional expertise in BlackLine modules such as Account Reconciliations, Journals, and Task Management.
-Hands-on experience with BlackLine–SAP FI integration and data validation.
-Understanding of GL accounting, period close, and reconciliation processes.
-Proficiency in incident management, RCA, testing, and documentation in an AMS setup.
-Good analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
