Summary
AI Powered Tech Talent
You will design, configure, and enhance SAP Materials Management (MM) processes while leveraging AI assisted development tools and copilots to accelerate requirement analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and problem resolution. This role ensures streamlined procurement, inventory management, and supplier collaboration while integrating pre built AI capabilities to boost productivity—without requiring deep involvement in LLM development, RAG, or agentic AI systems.

Key Responsibilities
MM Functional & Technical Delivery
Configure and optimize MM processes including:
o Procure to Pay (P2P)
o Purchase Requisition/Order Management
o Source List & Quota Arrangements
o Vendor Management
o Inventory Management, Reservations & Movements
o Material Master Data
o Release Strategies & Pricing
Use AI copilots to generate functional specifications, validate configuration logic, create high quality test cases, and automate key documentation.
Support end to end delivery across requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, SIT/UAT, deployment, and hypercare.
Integrate MM with SD, FI, PP, QM, and external supplier systems using standard APIs, IDocs, and middleware.
AI Assisted Productivity
Apply AI tools to accelerate:
o Requirement interpretation and process design
o Material and vendor data validation
o Error diagnostics in procurement and inventory workflows
o Test creation, regression analysis, and change impact assessments
o Document generation (FS, TS, SOPs, KT decks)
Integrate pre built AI services to enhance MM operations—e.g.,
o Automated classification of materials or purchasing documents
o Predictive signals (e.g., low stock, delayed deliveries)
o Intelligent summarization of PO exceptions or GR/IR issues
Use LLM assisted troubleshooting to reduce incident resolution time.
Governance, Quality & Collaboration
Ensure compliance with procurement governance, audit policies, material master standards, and operational controls.
Participate in workshops, walkthroughs, and process optimization discussions supported by AI generated insights.
Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, finance, production, QM, and integration teams to deliver cohesive MM solutions.
Contribute reusable templates, checklists, and AI augmented best practices for MM configuration and testing.

Required Skills & Experience
SAP MM Expertise
Strong understanding of P2P processes, purchasing document flows, vendor evaluation, and inventory management.
Experience configuring material master, vendor master, PO/PR processing, goods movements, and release strategies.
Familiarity with integration across SD, FI, PP, and QM.
Knowledge of IDocs, outputs, pricing procedures, and common MM troubleshooting patterns.
AI Ready Skills
Hands on experience using AI copilots, LLM powered documentation tools, and AI assisted testing accelerators.
Ability to integrate pre built AI capabilities (not custom AI model building) into MM workflows for automation and insight generation.
Understanding of responsible AI usage, data quality impacts, and the limitations of AI in procurement contexts.
General Skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills in procurement and material management scenarios.
Ability to translate business requirements into logical, scalable SAP MM configurations.
Clear communication and collaboration skills across functional business teams.
Continuous learning mindset with comfort adopting AI enabled productivity tools.

Good to Have
SAP MM Certification (S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement).
Experience with Ariba, Fieldglass, or other procurement platforms.
Exposure to warehouse or logistics processes (WM/EWM).
Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Tricentis).

Outcome Expectations
Deliver faster, more accurate SAP MM solutions using AI assisted development and analysis.
Improve procurement transparency, supplier coordination, and inventory accuracy.
Serve as a connective layer between procurement teams, SAP engineering teams, and AI native colleagues when deeper AI expertise is needed.
