Job Summary:
We are seeking a Junior Developer with hands-on experience in AS400 (IBM iSeries) systems to support the CPM domain. The role focuses on development, maintenance, and automation of AS400 applications, as well as integration and data export to external systems. The ideal candidate will have strong RPG IV/ILE and COBOL skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and automate processes while collaborating effectively with team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance AS400 applications using RPG IV/ILE and COBOL.
- Create and automate recurring data export jobs to external databases or platforms.
- Use CL (Control Language) scripts to manage job control, scheduling, and automation tasks.
- Support integration of AS400 data with other systems and applications.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and development issues in AS400 environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet business requirements.
- Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and optimizations.
- Document code, processes, and operational procedures as needed.
Required Skills:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with AS400 (IBM iSeries).
- Strong programming skills in RPG IV / ILE.
- Proficiency in legacy COBOL applications.
- Expertise in CL scripting for automation and job control.
- Familiarity with DB2 for i database and basic SQL queries.
- Experience in data export and integration with external systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Exposure to AIX, Linux, or Windows environments.
- Experience with workflow automation tools or scripts beyond CL.
- Knowledge of modern integration techniques (APIs, file transfers, ETL).
- Understanding of enterprise data reporting and CPM processes.
- Prior experience in production support for AS400 applications.
