We are seeking a skilled and passionate senior Senior Network Security Engineer to join our team in Porto. The Senior Network Security Engineer will be responsible for setting up, configuring, and supporting the CORE network infrastructure, including firewalls, HLB, DNS, proxies, and more. The role involves designing network solutions, troubleshooting, and optimizing the network environment while introducing automation services. The candidate will also participate in infrastructure and business projects, ensuring secure and efficient network operations.

You will champion a security-first culture, participate in initiatives that protect client platforms and data, reduce risk exposure, strengthen defenses, and continuously improve the client's overall security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure, and support CORE network infrastructure (firewalls, HLB, DNS, GLB, IP, proxies, etc.)

  • Create network designs based on infrastructure and application requirements

  • Participate in network design reviews for infrastructure and segmentation

  • Review, implement, and enhance the network environment

  • Maintain and update documentation of corporate network implementations

  • Provide L3-level troubleshooting for network systems

  • Support network projects by delivering required infrastructure and documentation

  • Perform vulnerability assessments, validation, and upgrades on network systems and applications

  • Maintain processes like configuration management and infrastructure monitoring

  • Optimize current network implementations and introduce automation services

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in network security or a related field

  • Extensive experience with CheckPoint and Palo Alto technologies, including:

  • CheckPoint VSX and high-end appliances

  • Palo Alto Panorama, Prisma, IAF, and SD-WAN.

  • Experience with F5 technologies

  • Experience with Cloudflare product management

  • Knowledge of AlgoSec products

  • Strong knowledge of routing and switching technologies (BGP, ISIS, OSPF, VRF, MPLS, GRE, IPSEC, OTV)

  • Excellent understanding of TCP/IP protocols, DNS (Infoblox), and QoS

  • Automation and development skills (Python, Ansible, Bash, Netbrain, Terraform)

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Certifications

    • CheckPoint Certified Security Expert (CCSE).

    • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).

    • F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS).

    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related disciplines.

Additional Information

  • Flexibility for regular travel to Paris or Brussels (at least once per quarter)

  • Teleworking is possible, with a minimum of 8 days per month on-site
