SAP ABAP Analyst
As an SAP ABAP Consultant, you will design, build, and deliver scalable SAP solutions leveraging S/4HANA, ABAP RAP, and SAP BTP CAP frameworks. You will work on enterprise transformation programs, enabling clean-core architectures and cloud-native extensibility while collaborating with functional and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned to client needs.
Key Responsibilities
1) Application Development & Delivery
Design, develop, and deploy SAP ABAP solutions on S/4HANA and SAP BTP
Build applications using ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP)
Develop side-by-side extensions using SAP BTP and CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)
Implement services using OData V4, CDS Views, and business services
2) Architecture & Integration
Design clean-core compliant solutions aligned with SAP extensibility principles
Build integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems using:
SAP BTP APIs
Destination services
Event mesh / event-driven architecture
Support cloud-native architecture patterns for enterprise applications
3) Solution Design & Collaboration
Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs
Collaborate with functional consultants, architects, and cross-functional teams
Contribute to solution design discussions and technical decision-making
Participate in client workshops and requirement gathering sessions
4) Quality, Testing & Optimization
Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning
Ensure adherence to coding standards, governance, and best practices
Conduct code reviews and support continuous improvement
5) Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Prepare technical specifications and documentation
Ensure compliance with development standards and lifecycle management
Stay updated with latest SAP technologies (RAP, CAP, BTP)
Experience
3–6 years of SAP ABAP development experience
Proven experience in S/4HANA and ABAP for HANA environments
Core Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience in:
ABAP RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model)
SAP BTP (ABAP Environment / BTP services)
CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)
Expertise in:
CDS Views, OData V4
ABAP for HANA (AMDP, performance optimization)
Fiori Elements development
Architecture & Extensibility
Understanding of SAP extensibility models:
On-stack ABAP Cloud
Side-by-side extensions (BTP)
Clean Core principles
Integration & Tools
SAP BTP APIs & integration services
SAP Business Application Studio / ADT (Eclipse)
Exposure to:
Workflows, BAdIs, Adobe Forms
Integration with external systems
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5
Exposure to DevOps / CI-CD in SAP BTP
Knowledge of industry-specific SAP modules (MM, FI, SD, etc.)
Experience in large-scale SAP transformation programs
