At Accenture, we work with one shared purpose—to deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity. With more than 775,000 people around the world, we help clients reinvent their organisations through innovation, transformation and secure, future-ready technology solutions.
We’re now seeking an experienced Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) SME to join our team in Ballarat, supporting one of Australia’s most complex restricted-environment programs.
About the Role
As the Technical SME for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) Air-Gapped, you will lead the design, build and secure deployment of GDC infrastructure within a highly restricted, offline environment. This is a hands-on delivery role focused on architecture, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Kubernetes engineering, compliance, and deterministic deployment workflows.
You’ll work closely with cloud, security, network, and vendor stakeholders to meet project milestones and deliver a reliable, secure, and compliant platform aligned with government standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design end-to-end GDC Air-Gapped (Kubernetes) cluster, platform and network architecture aligned to offline constraints.
Build and package Terraform modules (Kubernetes provider – GDC), Kubernetes manifests, and policy bundles for fully offline deployment.
Configure and deploy GDC components, including GKE Enterprise clusters, Anthos services, and private registries, using deterministic pipelines.
Establish and maintain disconnected CI/CD workflows and private registries (container images, Helm charts, Terraform modules).
Conduct SIT/UAT, controlled environment builds, cluster lifecycle validation and upgrade procedures.
Ensure alignment with PSPF, ISM, Essential Eight and internal governance requirements.
Produce clear and comprehensive documentation including Detailed Designs, runbooks, testing artefacts and handover materials.
Collaborate with security, cloud, networking and third-party vendors to remove blockers and drive project delivery.
Skills & Experience
Proven hands-on experience with Google Cloud, GKE Enterprise, and Anthos.
Strong capability in Terraform and IaC engineering for offline or air-gapped environments.
Deep Kubernetes engineering experience across cluster creation, upgrades, node image pipelines, and GitOps/ACM—especially in disconnected environments.
Strong understanding of offline CI/CD, private registries and mirrored repositories.
Working knowledge of PSPF, ISM and the Essential Eight.
Experience with comparable hybrid-cloud solutions (Azure Stack, AWS Outposts) is beneficial but not essential.
