About the Role
Accenture’s Spatial team helps clients across Australia, New Zealand, and around the APAC region make the most of their location data. We integrate GIS, ETL, and other spatial tools and thinking into real-world systems, supporting industries like mining, utilities, transport, government, and more.
We’re looking for someone early in their career (around 2-5 years’ experience) who loves working with spatial data, enjoys solving problems with GIS technology, and wants to grow into a well-rounded Spatial Consultant/ Solution Architect. You’ll have strong GIS skills (especially Esri and potentially QGIS), a good foundation in ETL (especially FME), and an interest in learning how spatial systems connect with broader IT environments.

Role type: Permanent FTE
Hybrid: up to 2-3 days office depending on project work
Travel: occasionally travel could be required.
What You’ll Do
- Be an innovator and communicator.
- Work with clients to understand their data, workflows, and requirements.
- Assist in designing and delivering GIS solutions for clients, including maps, apps, and spatial services.
- Use modern techniques and technologies including Artificial Intelligence to create client value.
- Build, configure and support GIS environments including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro solutions.
- Create and maintain FME ETL workflows for data integration, automation, QA, and transformation.
- Troubleshoot GIS and ETL issues and provide technical support to project teams.
- Help prepare documentation, diagrams, training materials, and presentations.
- Collaborate with other Accenture teams across regions to solve technical challenges.
- Contribute to planning and maintaining spatial systems, servers, and data repositories.
- Perform spatial analysis, data preparation, and quality checks as needed.
What You Bring
- A degree in GIS, Spatial Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar, OR equivalent work experience.
- Around 2-5 years working with spatial data in a technical role.
- Certification in Esri/ FME or willingness to obtain certification.
- Strong experience with:
- Modern GIS packages; Esri, QGIS, etc
- ETL; FME, Interoperability,
- Good understanding of spatial databases, formats, and data models (File GDB, Enterprise GDB, PostGIS, CAD, etc.).
- Ability or interest to configure / build web maps, dashboards, and apps in Esri tools.
- Some scripting experience (Python/ArcPy preferred) or willingness to learn.
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients, teammates, and technical/non‑technical audiences.
- A desire to grow skills in consulting, customer engagement, and solution design.
Nice to Have
- Professional Affiliations, or willingness to obtain affiliations.
- Certification in AWS/ Azure, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience installing and configuring enterprise GIS environments.
- Experience or interest in CAD/BIM integration, GeoAI, automation, or emerging spatial technologies.
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Familiarity with APIs, SDKs, or software development workflows.
- Exposure to enterprise IT environments or system integration work.
