Infrastructure & Capital Projects – Construction Design Manager – Data Centers, ANS
THE WORK:
- You'll direct and coordinate design consultants, internal SMEs, and key stakeholders to achieve progress milestones and complete design packages in compliance with all applicable code requirements and aligned with our Data Center Reference Designs and Standards.
- You'll incorporate best practices, industry standards, and approved emerging technologies into design frameworks.
- You'll manage zoning, entitlement, and permitting processes to secure timely approvals in accordance with project schedules. You'll respond to Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) information requests and application comments to ensure efficient jurisdictional review and prompt issuance of required approvals.
- You'll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (real estate, engineering, operations, finance) and external consultants (architects, engineers, legal advisors) to align on project objectives and deliverables.
- You'll actively engage with general and MEP contractors for design reviews, constructability assessments, and cost/schedule inputs.
- You'll supervise design teams to ensure construction administration services maintain design integrity, uphold quality standards, and efficiently mitigate construction issues to minimize cost and schedule impacts.
- You'll implement and maintain an effective project design change management process throughout the project lifecycle, recommending improvements to the Global Data Center Reference Design and Standards using our change management request workflow.
- You'll ensure data center facilities meet or exceed design intent, with a strong emphasis on resilience and quality.
- You'll collaborate with Commissioning and QAQC teams to identify key areas of concern and required attention.
- You'll conduct ongoing and post-project reviews to document lessons learned and share insights across the data center program.
- Flexible: The work location for this role will include a mix of working remotely, onsite at a client or in an Accenture office or center.
- With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.
$150,000 - $200,000 a year
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- BS or MS Degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management
- Minimum of 10-13 year(s) of engineering design experience, with at least 3 years managing multidiscipline design teams
- Experience managing projects in the Data Center market
- Experience with Design-Build and/or Engineering, Procurement, and Construction projects
- Resident Engineer or field start-up services experience
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.)
- Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of scheduling software like P6
- Strong Self-Motivation, leadership, and organizational skills
- Implementing work priorities to ensure the orderly flow of construction documentation throughout the construction process
