Job Summary
We are seeking a Java Architect (Entry-Level Architect) with 8–12 years of strong hands-on experience in architecting and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems, with hands-on experience delivering enterprise e-commerce solutions on platforms such as commercetools, SAP Commerce, Adobe Commerce, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud etc.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical leadership skills and deep expertise in modern Java ecosystems, distributed systems, microservices, cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and composable/headless commerce architecture.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical architecture for Java-based microservices and backend systems
- Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical decision-making
- Establish coding standards and maintain high-quality, secure implementation practices
- Implement best practices for performance, concurrency, caching, and database efficiency
- Design, develop, and optimize Java/Spring Boot services, REST APIs, and integrations
- Break down complex problems, lead end-to-end execution, and ensure timely delivery
- Support CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and deployments on Kubernetes/cloud environments
- Ensure observability through proper logging, metrics, monitoring, and distributed tracing
- Troubleshoot production issues, lead root cause analysis (RCA), and implement long-term stable fixes
- Enforce security best practices across services, APIs, and infrastructure integrations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Product) throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Conduct code reviews and architecture reviews with a focus on quality and maintainability
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and engineering excellence
- Champion adoption of AI-assisted development practices to improve team velocity and code quality
Professional and Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architecture
- Experience designing and building REST APIs and distributed backend systems
- Good knowledge of JVM performance tuning, concurrency, threading, and memory management
- Solid understanding of JPA/Hibernate, SQL, and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Hands-on experience with caching mechanisms (Redis, Hazelcast)
- Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native design patterns
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Strong understanding of observability tools: ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry
- Awareness of security practices: OAuth2/OIDC, TLS/mTLS, secrets management, and secure coding principles
- Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows
- Ability to lead code reviews, participate in design reviews, and mentor junior engineers
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-powered code review)
Good To Have:
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks
- Exposure to platform engineering concepts and Internal Developer Platform (IDP) tooling
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra)
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
- Understanding of API gateway patterns and tools (Kong, AWS API Gateway, Apigee)
- Experience designing and delivering enterprise e-commerce solutions using platforms such as commercetools, SAP Commerce, Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of composable/headless commerce architecture, including API-first design, microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native patterns
