Principal - Technology Strategy Mergers & Acquisitions

As a Principal in Technology Strategy, you will lead complex, high-value engagements at the forefront of digital transformation and M&A—working directly with C-suite executives to shape technology agendas that drive real enterprise value.
This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in complex, business-critical environments and is passionate about combining strategy, technology, and industry insight to unlock growth.
What you’ll do
Lead technology strategy and M&A transformation
- Define end-to-end technology and digital strategies, including roadmaps, operating models, and transformation agendas
- Advise clients on technology in M&A: pre-deal diligence, integrations, separations, and carve-outs
- Shape target-state architectures, technology cost and productivity strategies, and investment priorities
- Embed emerging technologies, including AI and data, into transformation outcomes
Bring industry expertise to life
- Leverage industry insight across Resources (energy, utilities, chemicals, natural resources) or Communications, Media & Technology (CMT)
- Apply industry trends and evolving market dynamics into practical, differentiated technology solutions
Partner with senior clients
- Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite stakeholders, guiding critical technology and investment decisions
- Lead complex engagements as a trusted advisor and deliver measurable outcomes
Drive growth and thought leadership
- Originate and shape new opportunities in partnership with Accenture’s sales teams
- Develop go-to-market strategies and build long-term client relationships
- Contribute to thought leadership, publishing white paper insights on technology disruption and M&A
Lead and grow high-performing teams
- Mentor and develop consultants, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture
What we’re looking for
Experience
- 15+ years’ experience in technology strategy and M&A
- Proven background in consulting or advisory environments, engaging at executive level
- Experience in Resources or CMT industries (other relevant sectors also considered)
Functional expertise
- Technology strategy in M&A, IT operating models, and tech cost optimization
- Technology considerations across the M&A lifecycle
- Deep exposure to data, AI or digital transformation programs, and ability to work with new frontier models
Leadership and impact
- Track record of leading complex, cross-functional programs
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial mindset with experience in business development and deal shaping
- Proven ability to develop and contribute to thought leadership, including published white papers and industry insights
Qualifications
- MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
- Certifications in cloud, AI, or program management advantageous
