Internship details
Period: 4 – 6 months
Hours a week: 32 - 40
Location: ITO office, Amsterdam
Start date: First day of the month
THE WORK
You will be an intern within the Cyber Security group in Accenture. During the period of 4-6 months, you will write your thesis in one of the fastest growing business areas in the world. Accenture will give you the opportunity to gain knowledge with the most innovative tools, technologies and methodologies.
Team: In the Cyber Security department, the team is very diverse and ranges from junior consultants to senior managers who have gained knowledge from various (enterprise) projects. Our team consists of 100+ Cyber Security experts.
Daily tasks: Besides working on your thesis, we have an active intern community where you can gain knowledge about the latest cyber security developments. You are free to explore and connect with fellow peers on specific services or industries.
Research freedom with a cybersecurity lens
As a research intern, you are encouraged to define and shape your own research topic. Your topic is flexible, as long as it has a clear cybersecurity component.
At Accenture, we are structured around industries, supported by cross-cutting services and capabilities. This means your research can be positioned in multiple ways:
Industry-focused: Apply your research within one of our key industries:
Communication, Media & Technology (CMT), Products (PRD), Resources (RES), Health & Public Service (H&PS), and Financial Services (FS).
Example: Explore how retail organizations translate abstract cyber risk appetite into concrete governance mechanisms, controls, and decision-making processes.
Service / domain-focused only: Contribute to core cybersecurity domains such as Digital Identity, Cloud Security, Application/Platform Security, AI & Data Protection, Cyber Strategy & Risk or Cyber Defense.
Cross-industry and cross-service – Explore topics that connect industries and services, combining perspectives to address broader cybersecurity challenges. This is strongly encouraged, as many of our client problems span multiple domains and industries.
Interested? Please submit a motivational letter in which you:
Describe your motivation for joining Accenture and the internship
Propose the research topic you intend to explore and further develop
Explain how your topic relates to cybersecurity and fits within one or more of the services and/or industries listed above
You can upload your motivation letter together with your resume in our Workday system.
