SAP Technical & Integration Architect
We are seeking a visionary SAP Technical & Integration Architect to lead the technical design, integration strategy, and development governance of our customers' SAP landscapes. In this role, you will define the "How" of our modern SAP implementations. This means establishing the integration patterns, application lifecycle management, and extensibility standards that ensure systems are clean, scalable, and high performing.
Key Responsibilities
Integration & Development Architecture
- Architect Complex Integration Patterns: Design robust, real-time integration scenarios using the SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration/CPI), API Management, and Event Mesh.
- Hybrid Landscape Connectivity: Oversee secure, high-performing technical connectivity between SAP (S/4HANA Private/Public Cloud) and diverse non-SAP systems (3rd party SaaS, legacy apps, hyperscaler workloads).
- Enforce the "Clean Core" Philosophy: Drive the transition away from legacy custom code modification by championing SAP BTP for side-by-side extensibility and modern on-stack techniques.
- Technical Governance: Establish, review, and enforce strict development standards for modern SAP paradigms, specifically the Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model, ABAP RESTful Application Programming (RAP), and UI5/Fiori.
Landscape Strategy & Governance
- Application Lifecycle & DevSecOps: Define modern Transport Management and deployment strategies using Git-based CI/CD pipelines, Cloud ALM, or TMS/CTS+.
- Security & Identity Management: Design end-to-end security architectures with a heavy emphasis on SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS/IPS), SSO, IAM, and OAuth 2.0 integration.
- Infrastructure Baseline: Partner with Basis and infrastructure teams to ensure technical blueprints properly account for Sizing, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) standards on hyperscalers (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Required Technical Skills & Experience (The Core)
- Experience: 12+ years in SAP environments, with at least 3 years explicitly leading technical architecture, development, or integration streams.
- Integration & Development Mastery (Crucial): Hands-on experience developing Cloud Integration, managing OData/REST APIs, and a strong background in SAP development environments (CAP, RAP, or advanced ABAP/Java).
- SAP BTP Expertise: Deep, practical experience with Business Technology Platform services, setup, BTP Security, and Cloud Identity Services.
- Modern Operations: Working knowledge of SAP Cloud ALM for implementation, operations, and cross-application monitoring, alongside SAP Signavio for process modeling.
- Foundational Platform Knowledge: Strong understanding of S/4HANA architecture, SAP NetWeaver, and HANA database mechanics (to effectively guide Basis and infrastructure teams).
Preferred Qualifications (Enterprise Architecture)
- Familiarity with EA concepts across Business, Data, Application, and Technology layers.
- The ability to think beyond a single server or component; understanding how SAP fits into a multi-cloud hybrid ecosystem.
- Experience with SAP Activate methodology and "RISE with SAP" frameworks.
- Certifications in SAP Integration, BTP Development, or EA Frameworks (TOGAF / SAP EA Framework) are a significant plus.
Soft Skills
- The Translator: Ability to articulate complex technical constraints, development blockages, and integration dependencies to non-technical business stakeholders and Enterprise Architects.
- The Mentor: A proven leader capable of coaching technical consultants across distinct silos (guiding Basis, ABAP developers, and Integration engineers toward a unified architecture).
- Intellectual Curiosity: A forward-thinking mindset, actively monitoring SAP roadmaps and release notes to anticipate changes and propose future-proof architectures.
