Job Summary
As the CPQ Architect, you will lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of Conga CPQ solutions across quoting, pricing, product modeling, approvals, document generation, and downstream integrations (CRM/ERP/Billing/CLM). The architect will define scalable CPQ patterns, govern solution quality, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver high-performing, compliant, and maintainable CPQ capabilities.
This role requires deep expertise in Conga CPQ (Salesforce-native and/or Conga RLP) with strong architecture discipline, stakeholder management, and hands-on ability to troubleshoot complex CPQ behaviors.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Own CPQ solution architecture across Product Catalog, Pricing, Quoting, Approvals, Amendments/Renewals, and Order handoff.
- Translate business requirements into CPQ functional + technical design, including - Product structure, Pricing models, Discounting & margin controls, approvals, and exception handling.
- Ensure design aligns with enterprise standards for security, compliance, and data governance.
- Architect integration between Conga CPQ and CRM (Salesforce), ERP(SAP/Oracle/Dynamics), Billing/Subscription, and Taxation platforms.
- Collaborate with integration teams on middleware (MuleSoft/Boomi/Azure Integration Services, etc.).
- Define a scalable architecture with clear environment setup, performance and audit standards, and a streamlined deployment process covering source control, releases, and environment promotions.
- Lead design workshops with Sales Ops, Pricing, Legal, Finance, and IT.
- Mentor CPQ admins, developers, and functional consultants.
- Provide architectural guidance in RFPs, estimations, and roadmap planning.
- Own documentation: HLD/LLD, decision logs, data flows, integration specs.
- Manage technical risks, effort estimation, security governance, and cross-team dependencies.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, BAs and Architects to convert business needs into solution roadmaps.
Professional and Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Conga CPQ architecture, including product modeling, pricing rules, discounting, approvals, amendments, and renewals.
- Proven experience designing and governing scalable CPQ solutions on Salesforce and/or Conga Revenue Lifecycle Platform (RLP).
- Solid understanding of enterprise integrations with CRM, ERP, Billing, and CLM using APIs and middleware patterns.
- Ability to create and own solution architecture artifacts (HLD/LLD, data flows, integration designs) and enforce best practices.
- Hands-on capability to troubleshoot performance issues, optimize rule execution, and ensure quote calculation efficiency.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills with the ability to lead design discussions and mentor CPQ teams.
- Certifications (Preferred): Conga CPQ Basic or Advanced, Salesforce Platform Developer I/ II and MuleSoft certification is a plus.
