Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineering Lead, a typical day involves overseeing the technical vision and architectural framework of bespoke software projects. This role requires guiding multiple teams through the entire lifecycle of software development, from initial design concepts to final delivery. The position demands continuous alignment of development practices with overarching business goals, ensuring that solutions are robust, scalable, and maintain high performance. Collaboration across diverse groups and proactive problem-solving are integral to driving successful project outcomes and fostering innovation within the teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Define electrification platform system reference architectures including 400 V and 800 V BMS topology centralized motor control OBC and HV PDU design
2. Lead MBSE adoption for electrification system design including SysML based battery system architecture HV safety architecture modelling and digital continuity
3. Drive systems engineering strategy for SDV electrification including centralized energy management HPC software defined BMS and V2G ecosystem integration
4. Lead ISO 26262 ASIL D functional safety governance at organizational level including ASIL allocation SEooC qualification and DFA frameworks
5. Interface with OEM Electrification Engineers for platform level safety architecture development
6. Champion ASIL D safety methodology across all programmers including standardized HARA templates FMEA SW methodology and safety case frameworks
7. Establish reusable electrification systems engineering IPs including safety concept libraries HV safety architecture templates and ICD standard formats
8. Govern ASPICE Level 3 SYS process compliance organization wide for electrification programmers and define Level 4 and Level 5 readiness roadmap
9. Lead complex technical proposals for high value electrification systems engineering and ASIL D safety engagement opportunities
10. Build electrification systems engineering competency including ASIL D training curriculum HV safety CoE and functional safety accreditation
11. Contribute to electrification industry standards through active participation in ISO TC22 SC37 IEC TC69 and CharIN working groups
Professional & Technical Skills:
1. Must Have Mastery of electrification system engineering ASIL D safety architecture HV system design and battery system requirements
2. Must Have Expert level ISO 26262 ASIL D governance across multiple production BEV PHEV electrification programs
3. Must Have Experience be defining platform level electrification safety architectures 400 V 800 V BMS inverter OBC and HV PDU
4. Must Have Deep MBSE expertise with SysML based HV safety system design and model driven ASIL D requirements management
5. Must Have Experience governing ASPICE compliant electrification systems engineering organization wide and driving process improvement
6. Must Have Proven engagement with OEM Chief Powertrain Engineers on complex ASIL D electrification platform safety programs
7. Must Have Track record of delivering ASIL D systems engineering excellence across high volume BEV production programs
8. Good to Have Experience with IEC 62660 battery testing IEC 62619 safety requirements and UN 38 3 transport testing governance
9. Good to Have Knowledge of solid-state battery system engineering and new ASIL D safety challenges
10. Good to Have Familiarity with V2G system architecture ISO 15118 20 grid code requirements and VPP integration system design
11. Good to Have Exposure to UNECE R100 homologation preparation and EV safety type approval across global markets
12. Good to Understand 800 V system safety architecture increased isolation design arc flash analysis and new HVIL strategies
