We are seeking a highly skilled Palo Alto Firewall Engineer with strong expertise in GlobalProtect VPN solutions to design, implement, and manage secure remote access infrastructure. The role involves supporting global enterprise environments, ensuring secure connectivity, high availability, and seamless user experience for remote workforce.
Job description
Firewall Management
Design, deploy, configure, and manage Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW).
Implement and manage security policies, NAT rules, App-ID, User-ID, and Content-ID.
Perform firewall rule analysis, optimization, and compliance auditing.
Handle firewall upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
GlobalProtect (Core Focus)
Design and implement GlobalProtect VPN (Portal & Gateway architecture).
Remote Access VPN
Always-On VPN
Clientless VPN (if applicable)
Manage authentication mechanisms (LDAP, RADIUS, SAML, Azure AD, MFA).
Split tunnel & full tunnel configurations
HIP (Host Information Profile) checks
Endpoint security posture validation
Optimize VPN performance and ensure high availability (HA configuration).
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot L2/L3, VPN, and application connectivity issues.
Analyze logs and packet captures for deep troubleshooting.
Work with cross-functional teams (network, security, application teams).
Automation & Optimization

Automate routine firewall/VPN tasks using APIs or scripting (Python).
Improve operational efficiency and enforce standardization.

Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls (PAN-OS)
Deep expertise in GlobalProtect VPN architecture and troubleshooting
Knowledge of:IPsec, SSL VPN concepts
Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, Static)
NAT, DNS, TCP/IP
Experience with Panorama central management
SSL Decryption
Authentication & Integration:LDAP, RADIUS, SAML, Azure AD integration
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Certifications (Preferred)
PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer)
PCNSA (Preferred)
Any cloud certifications (Azure / AWS)
Soft Skills
Strong troubleshooting and analytical mindset
Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Ability to handle high-severity incidents in global environments
Documentation and reporting expertise

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead efforts to streamline support processes and improve response times.
- Mentor junior team members to enhance their technical and problem-solving skills.
- Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure alignment on issue resolution and system updates.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Palo Alto Networks Firewalls.
- Strong knowledge of firewall configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with network security protocols and best practices.
- Ability to analyze logs and network traffic to identify security threats and system issues.
- Familiarity with incident management and escalation procedures.
- Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement security solutions.

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Palo Alto Networks Firewalls.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
