Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as a software detective, providing a dynamic service that identifies and resolves issues within various components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with team members to troubleshoot problems, analyzing system performance, and ensuring that all applications run smoothly to support business operations effectively. You will engage with users to understand their challenges and work diligently to implement solutions that enhance system functionality and user experience.
Roles & Responsibilities:
-Microsoft Teams Administration
-Design, implement, and administer Microsoft Teams including:
-Channels, chat, meetings, live events, collaboration features.
-Integration with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and third-party tools.
-Govern user onboarding/offboarding, user roles, permissions, and access controls.
-Enterprise Voice & Telephony
-Deploy and manage Teams Cloud Enterprise Voice using:
-Direct Routing (with Media Bypass), Operator Connect
-Microsoft Calling Plans
-Configure and maintain SBCs (e.g., AudioCodes, Ribbon) within centralized and hybrid SIP infrastructure.
-Configure voice routing, dial plans, emergency calling, and network topology for optimal voice performance.
-Collaborate with clients and vendors for voice solution implementation.
-Procure, assign, change, or remove phone numbers (user, service, toll-free).
-Configure and manage Auto Attendants and Call Queues.
-Troubleshoot PSTN issues, dial-in conferencing, dropped calls, call routing and call quality.
-Integration & Federation
-Configure federation and guest access, resolving related issues.
-Troubleshoot meeting join issues, file move/copy errors, and other collaboration app problems.
-Monitoring & Troubleshooting
-Use Teams Admin Center, Call Analytics, and Call Quality Dashboard (CQD) for diagnostics and issue resolution.
-Monitor Teams service uptime and escalate service degradation issues to third-party providers and OEMs per SLAs.
-Support end-users with advanced troubleshooting, especially during meetings and voice call disruptions.
-Security, Compliance & Governance
-Implement and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP), compliance policies, and conditional access.
-Ensure Microsoft Teams aligns with Brink s security and compliance policies.
-Automation & Scripting
-Use PowerShell scripting to automate tasks related to Teams administration, voice configurations, and reporting.
-Documentation & Continuous Improvement
-Create and maintain accurate documentation, policies, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
-Stay updated with Microsoft Teams features, trends, and best practices.
-Participate in workshops and training sessions to expand internal capabilities.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- 5-6 years of experience supporting Microsoft Teams in an enterprise setting.
-Deep knowledge of: Enterprise Voice, SIP, VoIP, PSTN, SBCs
-Direct Routing, Operator Connect, Calling Plans
-Emergency Calling, Dial Plans, Voice Routes
-Strong hands-on experience with:
-Microsoft Teams Admin Center
-Session Border Controllers (AudioCodes, Ribbon)
-Call Analytics & CQD
-Solid scripting skills using PowerShell.
-Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture, security, and compliance.
-Proven ability to administer Teams, and coordinate with cross-functional groups (e.g., Network, Firewall, Cloud teams).
-Ability to work independently and make decisions with little direct supervision.
-Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills are needed in order to work successfully with customers in high stress and or ambiguous situations.
-Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate or similar certifications are a plus.
