Overview
The Business Intelligence Engineer designs, delivers, and maintains scalable reporting and analytics solutions that enable data-informed decision-making across the organization. This role owns end-to-end analytics delivery, from understanding business needs and ensuring data integrity to building automated dashboards and advanced analytical outputs that surface insights, trends, and opportunities. The role leads a small analytics team and shapes the predictive-analytics roadmap for the function.
Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end delivery of business intelligence solutions, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and timely availability of data products.

Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business questions into analytical solutions, and iteratively refine dashboards and reports.

Design, build, and maintain dashboards and recurring reports that provide actionable insights and support operational and strategic decisions.

Execute ad hoc data analyses to support business inquiries, experiments, and special initiatives.

Monitor and manage data workflows to ensure seamless refresh cycles and proactively resolve data disruptions.

Implement and enforce data quality controls to ensure consistency, completeness, and trust in reporting outputs.

Transform reporting from descriptive and diagnostic views toward more proactive and predictive analytics where applicable.

Automate manual reporting processes, including the conversion of spreadsheet-based reporting into scalable dashboards built on modern data-stack tooling (e.g., dbt, Looker, cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift).

Collaborate with data governance and adjacent data teams to align with best practices and maintain data integrity.

Contribute to project planning and execution by managing scope, risks, dependencies, and delivery milestones.

Provide guidance and support to team members by clarifying requirements, removing delivery roadblocks, and promoting effective collaboration across time zones.

Communicate project status, risks, and insights clearly to stakeholders, fostering strong and trusted working relationships.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.
4+ years of experience working in data-driven environments delivering analytics, reporting, or business intelligence solutions, with at least 1+ year in a team lead or formal people-management capacity.
Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and analyzing complex datasets.
Hands-on experience designing and delivering dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, LookML, Data Studio).
Working knowledge of at least one cloud data warehouse (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) is preferred.
Familiarity with Git-based workflows for analytics code (branching, pull requests, code review) is preferred.
Strong experience working with large datasets in Excel or Google Sheets, including automation and advanced analysis.
Proven ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with data cleansing, validation, and transformation to produce high-quality analytical outputs.
Familiarity with ETL and automation concepts supporting analytics workflows.
Experience working within Agile delivery methodologies.
