YOUR MISSION

  • Maintain and enhance a complex legacy Java solution while leading its transition to a modern, scalable architecture using microservices and Spring Boot

  • Design and implement cloud-native solutions (AWS), and contribute to system modularization and performance improvements

  • Stay actively involved in hands-on coding, peer reviews, and problem-solving

  • Drive architectural decisions related to APIs, data flow, scalability, and system integration

  • Champion clean code, testability, and engineering best practices in an Agile/DevOps environment

  • Collaborate with product, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure technical alignment and value delivery

  • Mentor developers and contribute to the evolution of the tech strategy and engineering culture

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE

  • An experienced Senior Java Developer (5+ years of experience) with solid backend development skills and a strong grasp of modern engineering principles

  • You already have architecture experience (solution or system-level), or you’ve been partially involved in architecture and are eager to step up and grow into a more strategic role

  • Proficient with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservice design patterns

  • Experienced with SQL and NoSQL databases, and comfortable working in large-scale distributed environments

  • Skilled in cloud-native development (AWS), containerization, and integration of backend systems

  • A strong communicator and natural mentor who enjoys knowledge sharing and team development

  • University educated (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or a related field)

  • Advanced in English (B2 level and above)

  • Fluent in Slovak (C2 level)

Nice to have:

  • Experience with frontend technologies (React, Angular, or similar)

  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices

  • Exposure to Gen AI or AI-assisted tools in development workflows

  • Previous experience in team or technical leadership roles
