Workday Projects Functional Lead

The Resource Allocation project is a Workday‑based initiative focused on designing and implementing a pilot resource allocation solution within an already established Workday landscape.

The goal is to enable more transparent, skills‑driven allocation of people to projects, improving visibility, prioritization, and governance across delivery units and competence centers. The solution is built primarily on Workday Projects, complemented by Workday Extend apps to address functional gaps and align with the organizations operating model, with functional integrations to existing Workday modules deployed such as Core HCM, Talent & Performance, Career Hub. etc. The engagement covers global design, configuration, and pilot delivery for selected business groups, with potential to scale following a successful pilot.

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Creating a project and project hierarchy and maintaining project plans

  • Assign and manage project resources and associated budgets

  • Prepare and analyze project analytics and reports

  • Facilitating design sessions with clients

  • Designing and building Workday configurations

  • Ensure knowledge transfer to Support organization

  • Review functionality, validate a configuration decision and check conversion data to ensure validity

  • Review planned test scenarios/scripts and enhance them to test specific functionality of interest/concern

  • Document global requirements for configuration (create workbooks)

  • Facilitate prototype review sessions

  • Facilitate demos and train the trainer sessions

  • Solve test findings and defects, support during UAT

Key Requirements (Must‑Have)

  • Hands-on experience designing and configuring Workday Projects

  • Strong understanding of adjacent Workday HCM domains relevant to Resource Allocation, including Core HCM, Absence, Talent, and Skills

  • Certification in either Workday Project Services or Workday Project Administrator

  • Proven experience across end-to-end implementations and/or AMS engagements

  • Client-facing delivery experience

  • Solid, relevant experience working with Workday across multiple project phases

Nice‑to‑Have

  • Workday certifications on C2C, as this would implicate someone having experience with Workday Projects

  • Resources/Energy Industry experience

  • Prior Tier‑1 SI experience
