Consultant: Digital Manufacturing & Operations

Lead with expertise, drive innovation.

Are you an experienced professional ready to take your career to the next level? At Accenture the Netherlands, we're seeking a Digital Manufacturing & Operations Consultant who bring deep expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for innovation to help us solve complex challenges and deliver exceptional results.

🛠️ What you'll do:

As a consultant, you will be an integral part of multidisciplinary teams delivering operational transformations. Blending analytical rigor with on-site action, you will help design and implement solutions that harness Industry 4.0 technologies to solve our clients’ toughest challenges. In this role, you will:

  • Lead Workstreams: Drive key workstreams on consulting engagements focused on manufacturing efficiency and innovation. You’ll analyze production processes and performance data to pinpoint issues, then formulate improvement strategies

  • Deploy Digital Solutions Side-by-Side with Clients: We differentiate ourselves by not only advising but also executing solutions. You will work on-site with client managers and engineers to pilot and roll out new technologies by embedding with client teams, you’ll ensure that our recommendations are practical and that the client’s staff is supported through the change.

  • Bridge Business and Technology: Act as the liaison between frontline operations leaders and technical experts. You’ll translate business needs into functional requirements for solutions. You might work with our data scientists to design a dashboard that visualizes real-time production KPIs or collaborate with software developers to tailor a digital twin of a factory process.

  • Contribute to Practice Growth: Beyond client projects, you’ll have opportunities to shape our Manufacturing & Operations practice. This could include developing new service offerings, sharing your insights via internal knowledge platforms, or helping in proposal writing and research for business development. You’re on-the-ground experience and creativity will be valued in continually improving our methodologies and staying ahead of industry trends.

🧭 How We Reinvent
At Accenture, our teams operate within one of our core service lines—Technology, Strategy & Consulting, Security, Song, Industry X, Client Groups —each designed to drive reinvention at scale. This role falls under Industry X, where we combine deep industry expertise with cutting-edge technology to deliver 360° value to our clients.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team working collaboratively to solve complex challenges and shape the future of intelligent business. Whether it's transforming digital cores, embedding AI into operations, or designing human-centric experiences, our teams are empowered to innovate boldly and deliver measurable impact.

We go to market by industry, leveraging our global delivery network and strategic partnerships with ecosystem leaders like Microsoft, AWS, and Google. Our culture of shared success and continuous learning ensures that every team member contributes to—and benefits from—our reinvention journey.

🔍 What we're looking for:

  • 🎓 Education: A bachelor’s degree (and often an advanced degree) in Engineering, Operations Management, Science, or related field. A strong academic record is required. An MBA or master’s in a relevant discipline is a plus, especially if accompanied by a focus on operations or technology.

  • 🧠 Experience: Approximately 2–6 years of experience in roles related to manufacturing, operations, or digital transformation. This could include working as a process engineer, operations analyst, or in a technology/consulting role serving manufacturing clients. We value experience with operational improvement initiatives Prior consulting experience is welcomed but not mandatory; however, you should be familiar with the pace and expectations of client-facing work.

  • 🛠️Skills: A solid understanding of manufacturing or supply chain operations (e.g., production planning, shop floor processes, quality management) is essential. You should be comfortable with data analysis and visualization – able to interpret performance metrics, use analytical reasoning to draw insights, and communicate those via charts or reports. While we do not require coding skills, you should have a strong interest in technology and be able to quickly learn how new digital tools work. Familiarity with concepts like IoT, data analytics, AI/ML in operations, robotics, or digital twins is highly advantageous. Think of this role as “technologically fluent consultant” rather than a software developer – you will work with tech experts and possibly configure certain tools, so you need to understand the tech, but you won’t be writing production code.

  • 🧑‍💼 Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to approach complex, unstructured problems with a clear and methodical mindset. You thrive on challenge – if a solution doesn’t exist, you’re excited to create it. You can handle ambiguity, adjust plans on the fly, and maintain composure under pressure (for instance, when a pilot test in a factory doesn’t go as expected, you help figure out plan B). Your creativity and analytical rigor enable you to not only identify the “what” and “why” of a problem, but also to propose a practical “how” to fix it.

🌟 Bonus points for:

  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills are a must. You will be working with everyone from shop-floor technicians to executives, and with specialists from data scientists to UX designers. You should be able to communicate complex ideas in a clear, professional manner, adjusting your approach for different audiences. Strong presentation and report-writing skills are important for sharing findings and recommendations. Equally, you need to be a good listener and a team player – receptive to feedback, respectful of diverse perspectives, and skilled at building trust with clients.

  • Motivation & Growth Mindset: We seek individuals who are proactive, curious, and driven by an inner excitement for continuous learning. You should have a genuine interest in transformative technologies and their real-world application in manufacturing. This role is ideal for someone who wants to accelerate their career by challenging themselves in a supportive environment. Flexibility to travel to client sites (as needed) is required, as it’s often the best way to drive change where it happens.

  🎁 What we offer:

  • ♀️ Work-Life Flexibility: 4x9 Workweek Option, Hybrid Working, FlexDay

  • 💰 Financial Well-being: Competitive Base Salary, MyBenefits Budget, Annual Bonus, Net Allowance, Employee Share Purchase Plan

  • 🏥 Health & Wellness: Collective Health Insurance Scheme, Mental Health Support, Well-being Hub

  • 🏖️ Time Off & Leave: 26 Vacation Days, Special Leave Types (parental leave, partner leave, bereavement leave, and gender affirmation leave), Culture Days

  • 🚲 Mobility & Commuting: NS Business Card, Mobility Budget (option to choose between electric bike, car lease, or public transport reimbursement)

  • 📈 Career Development: Performance Achievement Program, Learning & Development Platform, Guidance from People Leads

  • 🌍 Inclusion, Diversity & Social Impact: Do Good Volunteer Program, I&D Networks, Refugee Talent Track

  • 🎉 Culture & Community: Accentrics & Friday Drinks, Annual Accenture NL Party, Flat Organizational Hierarchy
