The Federal Financial Senior Manager will serve in a leadership capacity supporting the project's Managers' Internal Control Program enterprise wide efforts through their expertise of federal financial environments and operations. The project lead must process a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and OMB A-123 and/or SOX best practices at the enterprise/program level: including internal controls over non-financial operations, financial systems and financial reporting. They will provide guidance on finance business processes, internal controls, risk management, statement of assurance compilation and Financial Management Systems in support of our clients' efforts to produce auditable financial statements and a strong internal control environment.
On a daily basis, the Federal Financial Senior Manager will be expected to:
• Provide recommendations to improve the financial management infrastructure, governance and environment
• Interact with the client and users around specific work efforts and deliverables and build c-suite client relationships
• Perform Quality Assurance reviews
• Lead a team of multiple work streams with 20+ resources and high level stakeholder groups

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of functional experience in any of the following: OMB A-123 programs, federal accounting and/or auditing, internal control testing, financial management, auditing
  • 7 years of federal government finance/accounting 
  • 7 years project management experience
  • 8 years of experience with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
  • Big 4 experience with accounting or auditing on federal advisory engagements
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
