I have joined Accenture for fruitful two years now. As a fresh graduate who newly joined the team, I was led by my team lead and a senior developer, and more focused on building my technical skills. When I have gained more experiences technically and was more familiar with the business, I gradually shifted my role to a team lead by managing the deliver.
Being a team lead means your consideration expands from your own responsibility to the delivery of the entire project. This year in this role, I get to know the strength of each of my teammates and gives everyone an opportunity to grow. I learnt that in a healthy team, people never accomplished all the work by him/herself but ask for help at the right time.
During my project that works on a payment platform, I worked with a team of 10 developers to deliver software that processes millions of dollars of transactions. I need to review different members’ work and drive the system towards a clean and neat design. One of my challenges is to cater business requirements from different users. At times I don't understand the business purpose of the change, I'd consult other Accenture colleagues that have worked with the same client so that I can see the whole picture more clearly. My work is challenging, but I try my best to locate different resources and make connections on the fly. Witnessing what I've accomplished gives me a great sense of achievement.
