Job Description:

Design Leadership drives creativity and innovation at all levels. As a Design Director, you’ll invest in strengthening the relationships between our teams, our clients, our work, and the people who use our products and services every day. You’ll own the design practice and delivery across one or more accounts. You’ll be responsible for overseeing multidisciplinary design teams to deliver impact for our clients. You’ll also manage our Design Leads, collaborate with account stakeholders, practice leads, and subject matter experts across Accenture to plan future projects.

As a Design Director, your responsibilities will include:

Elevating our design craft and capability

  • Driving the evolution of our design practice by taking a learning and growth mindset to all that we do, to consistently improve our craft that drives value to users, our clients, and informs how we create new offerings within Accenture Interactive.
  • Lead design points of view, proposal creation, and relationship management across one to two key clients.
  • Own craft and capability output across key projects, ensuring each project deliverable is of the highest quality.
  • Provide directional oversight of individual project team's work and assume overall accountability for it.
  • Owning the business of design, ensuring that project budgets are well managed while ensuring that your project team is well supported and enabled to do their best work.

Nurturing our design team and culture

  • Assessing performance and providing career guidance and performance decisions for members of our Design team.
  • Applying the principles and approach rooted in human centered design to the way we nurture our team and our culture. 

Scaling our impact with our clients

  • Deeply understanding the market and speaking to our clients and the industry about our content, craft, and trends that are shaping our work.
  • Developing pitch decks and project approaches that lead to exciting, inspiring, and well-shaped work for our client and our Design team.
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Providing directional oversight of individual project team's work and assume overall accountability for it.


Qualifications

Here’s what you need to succeed:

  • 10+ years’ experience of Service and/or Experience Design across varied users, business problems, and devices 
  • 5+ years leadership/management experience; demonstrated experience leading multiple cross-discipline teams.
  • 5+ years leadership/management experience designing and leading large scale experience transformation programs across multiple products, services, and touchpoints.
  • 5+ years' experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes.
  • Fluency and curiosity about technology and its impact on design solutions.
  • Understanding of areas of specialization within the greater design landscape, including but not limited to Design Research, Product Design, Business Design, Visual Design, and Content Design.  

Bonus points if:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.  
  • Ability to learn new software quickly; experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, Axure, Confluence, or JIRA is a plus. 
  • Ability to create experience maps, user journeys and service blueprints, interaction models, flows, and wireframes.  
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods, ranging from paper sketching to digital prototypes.
