Accenture & HBR Arabia International Women's Day 'Women of Wisdom'

View Transcript

2021 marks the 17th year Accenture celebrates International Women’s Day – an opportunity for us to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of women around the world and engage in open, honest and meaningful conversation to further advance a culture of equality.

This year, we partnered with HBR Arabia in a discussion on accelerating equality in the workplace and inspiriting a next generation of women leaders. The virtual discussion saw Loren Naish as master of ceremony, a fireside chat between Amanda Leacy and Ebru Tuygun, a panel discussion with Saudi Aramco, Saudi Payments and HBR Arabia, ending with Q&A led by Theodore Halabi.

Getting to equal

We believe the future workforce is an equal one and set bold goals to accelerate gender equality. Today, more than 275,000 women work at Accenture. Additionally, 50% of our board of directors and 27% of our global management committee are women.

If not now, when?

We know that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a massive impact on gender equality. Not only has it resulted in less income and less work for women, widening the gender gap when it comes to job security, it could actually extend the time to gender equality by 51 years – from 2120 to 2171.

Accenture Research collaborated with the W20 to produce, If Not Now, When? a report that details the unequal impact of COVID-19 on women, and the role that businesses and governments must now play for society to continue its progress towards gender equality.

If not now, when?

How we're getting to 50/50

We have set bold goals to achieve a gender-balanced workforce by 2025. This means a workforce that is equally 50 percent women and 50 percent men for those whose gender is binary.

Working flexibly

Our employees can set their start and finish times or work more hours over fewer days. They can telecommute, and we offer part-time arrangements.

Getting connected

We have hundreds of employee networks around the globe that enable our people to build connections and develop support systems.

Developing every day

100 percent of our people are mentored and participate in mentoring and personal development programs.
