Application Support Engineer

Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, your day involves acting as a software detective, diligently investigating and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. You will engage in dynamic problem-solving activities, ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of critical applications. Your role requires a proactive approach to identifying system anomalies and collaborating with different teams to maintain optimal system performance and availability throughout the day.
Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft Exchange On-Prem (2019) environment.
Perform mailbox administration, database management, DAG monitoring, and backup/restore operations.
Troubleshoot complex Exchange issues related to:
Mail flow
Client access (Outlook, OWA, ActiveSync)
Certificates and hybrid connectivity
Performance and availability
Manage Exchange upgrades, cumulative updates, and security patching.
Configure and maintain DAGs, transport rules, receive/connectors, and accepted domains.
Monitor Exchange health using native tools and enterprise monitoring platforms.
Support Hybrid Exchange configurations with Exchange Online.
Exchange Online / Microsoft 365
Administer Exchange Online mailboxes, shared mailboxes, and distribution lists.
Support mailbox migrations (on-prem cloud).
Manage mail flow, anti-spam, and anti-phishing policies.
Work with Microsoft 365 security and compliance features as required.
Identity & Integration
Strong integration experience with Active Directory, DNS, and PKI.
Support AAD Connect, directory synchronization, and identity-related issues.
Coordinate with networking, security, and infrastructure teams for issue resolution.
Operations & Support
Provide L2/L3 support for messaging-related incidents and problems.
Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
Engage with Microsoft Support for critical issues.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange On-Prem (mandatory).
Good understanding of Exchange architecture and mail flow concepts.
Solid experience with Hybrid Exchange deployments.
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for Exchange administration and automation.
Strong Active Directory administration skills.
Knowledge of SMTP, DNS, certificates, and networking fundamentals.
Experience in mailbox migrations and coexistence scenarios.
Soft Skills
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Clear communication and documentation abilities.
Ability to work independently in high-pressure environments.
Good stakeholder and vendor management skills.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 2 years of experience in Microsoft Exchange Server.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
