AWS Node.js Backend Developer

THE WORK:
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native backend applications and services on AWS, supporting enterprise-scale IoT solutions.
- Build and enhance scalable APIs and backend components using Node.js and/or Python while applying microservices and distributed systems principles.
- Manage cloud infrastructure through Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices, ensuring consistency, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and engineering teams to deliver technical solutions aligned with business needs.
- Drive system reliability, monitoring, troubleshooting, automated testing, and CI/CD improvements while embracing continuous learning, commitment to constant progress, proactive skill enhancement, and ongoing improvement.
Flexible: The work location for this role may include a mix of working remotely, onsite at a client or in an Accenture office - depending on specific project circumstances. With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders, and communities. HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Proven hands-on experience with AWS cloud services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3.
- Strong backend development experience using Node.js and/or Python.
- Solid experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
- Experience with IoT platforms, connected device ecosystems, MQTT, or AWS IoT Core.
- Experience supporting and operating production systems in cloud environments.
- Knowledge of serverless architectures and AWS managed services.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Jenkins.
