Design, implement and maintain databases. Install database management systems (DMBS). Develop procedures for day-to-day maintenance and problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities Run / Operations Support • Provide L2/L3 support for MS SQL Server databases and operational support in production, including incident, problem, and service request handling. • Perform investigations related to application and day-to-day business transaction related issues Incident & Problem Management • Analyze and resolve database-related incidents within SLA commitments. • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical issues and implement preventive actions. • Work closely with application and middleware teams to troubleshoot end-to-end issues. Change & Release Support • Support database changes, deployments, and patching activities in coordination with change and release management processes. • Review and validate SQL scripts to ensure performance efficiency and adherence to standards. • Assist in application process regression testing and post-release validation for database changes. Data Management & Security • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with client and organizational standards. • Support audit, compliance, and DR/BCP activities (including backup verification and restore drills). Documentation & Continuous Improvement • Maintain and update runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge articles for change and release operations. • Contribute to continuous service improvement (CSI) initiatives within AMS. • Share knowledge and best practices with junior resources and cross-functional teams. ________________________________________ Required Technical Skills • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL and Stored Procedures). • Experience supporting databases in production AMS or managed services environments. ________________________________________ Nice-to-Have / Additional Skills • Exposure to high-availability and DR solutions (Failover Clustering, Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping). • Experience C#, VB.net, PLSQL • Knowledge of ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and ITIL processes. ________________________________________ Behavioral & Professional Skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work effectively in shift-based or on-call AMS support models. • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal. • Detail-oriented, with a focus on quality, stability, and risk mitigation. • Collaborative mindset, able to work with onshore/offshore and cross-technology teams. Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 1 year of experience in Microsoft SQL Server Administration. - This position is based at our Manila office. Minimum 1 year(s) of experience is required
