Design, implement and maintain databases. Install database management systems (DMBS). Develop procedures for day-to-day maintenance and problem resolution.
Summary: As a Database Administrator, you will engage in the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases. Your typical day will involve installing database management systems, developing procedures for daily maintenance, and resolving any issues that arise, ensuring the databases operate efficiently and effectively to support organizational needs. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to perform independently and become an SME. - Required active participation/contribution in team discussions. - Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems. - Monitor database performance and implement improvements as necessary. - Ensure data integrity and security by implementing appropriate measures. - Collaborate with other IT professionals to integrate databases with applications. - Document database configurations, procedures, and changes for future reference. - Provide support and training to users on database-related issues. Professional & Technical Skills: - Required Skill: Expert proficiency in Linux. - Strong understanding of database management systems and their architecture. - Experience with database backup and recovery techniques. - Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization of databases. - Knowledge of scripting languages for automation of database tasks. Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 1 year of experience in Linux. - This position is based at our Manila office. Minimum 1 year(s) of experience is required
