The work:
We are seeking an experienced Unix/Linux Administrator with a strong background in system administration and automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing Unix/Linux systems (specifically RHEL, SUSE, and AIX), ensuring high availability, security, and performance. You will leverage Bash, Python, and Ansible to automate routine tasks, streamline configurations, and enhance system operations.
• System Setup & Configuration: Install, configure, and manage RHEL, SUSE, and AIX systems, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and up-to-date. Perform OS upgrades, patching, and system hardening.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain Bash and Python scripts to automate tasks such as updates, user provisioning, and health checks. Use Ansible for system configuration management and automation across multiple systems.
• Service Management: Administer and automate core services using tools like systemd, cron, and Ansible to maintain system reliability.


Here’s what you’ll need:
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or other related fields.
• At least 3-4 years of hands-on experience in Unix/Linux system administration, specifically with RHEL, SUSE, and AIX.
• Relevant certifications like RHCSA, RHCE, SUSE Certified Linux Administrator, or AIX Certified Administrator are a plus.
• Cloud Integration: Experience integrating Unix/Linux systems with cloud environments like Azure is beneficial.
• Automation Tools: Strong experience with Ansible, Bash, and Python to automate administrative tasks and system configurations.
• Basic Infrastructure Skills: OS management, basic networking, basic security, basic storage

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Storage Management: Familiarity with managing LVM, RAID, and file systems.
• Middleware: Familiarity with IBM MQ, Rocket, Apache, Tomcat, or JBoss.
• Virtualization: Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware, PowerVM, or KVM.
• Database Knowledge: Basic experience with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle running on Unix/Linux systems.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Understanding of backup solutions and disaster recovery plans for Unix/Linux environments.
