Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Commerce, Finance, HR, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
Job Summary:
The Payroll University Trainee program is designed to build future-ready talent with foundational expertise in Global Payroll processes combined with emerging AI and Automation capabilities.
This role provides fresh graduates with structured learning and hands-on experience across payroll operations, data analytics, and digital transformation initiatives, preparing them for industry-leading payroll delivery and automation roles.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Payroll Operations
- Support end-to-end payroll processing activities including data inputs, validations, and outputs
- Gain understanding of payroll components such as earnings, deductions, taxes, and statutory compliances
- Assist in payroll audits, reconciliations, and data validations
- Adhere to internal controls, compliance, and data privacy standards
Data & Reporting
- Analyze payroll data using Excel and reporting tools such as Power BI
- Support preparation of dashboards, reports, and operational insights
- Identify discrepancies and trends in payroll data
AI & Automation
- Develop basic skills in Python, Power Automate, and automation tools
- Support automation initiatives for payroll process improvements
- Gain exposure to APIs and system integrations
- Learn and contribute to AI-driven payroll use cases including Agentic AI
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in process improvement and transformation initiatives
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvement
- Support documentation of SOPs, process maps, and knowledge assets
Collaboration & Learning
- Work with cross-functional teams including payroll, analytics, and technology teams
- Participate in structured Payroll University learning programs
- Demonstrate continuous learning mindset and adaptability
Professional & Technical Skills:
Preferred Skills - Basic understanding of payroll or finance processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Technical Skills (Preferred / Trainable)
Basic knowledge of:
- Microsoft Excel
- Power BI or data visualization tools
- Python (basic level)
- Awareness of automation tools such as Power Automate
- Basic understanding of APIs and AI concepts (nice-to-have)
Additional Information:
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong learning agility and adaptability. Candidate should have an interest in digital technologies and automation. Candidate should have an ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Candidate with a strong educational background in preferably in computer science or a related field would be ideal. - This position is based at our Mumbai office(MDC2B).
