Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have experience as an accountant in our industry or in audit firms, preferably in a senior role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this person will closely work with on-site controllers and business partners as well as client external parties such as auditors and tax consultants. The Assistant Finance Controller will streamline the reconciliations and financial reporting processes, managing day-to-day statutory and tax compliance. They will produce thorough PL and BS variance analysis and commentary reports for the country Finance controllers to help improve Balance Sheet hygiene and drive operational efficiency by driving standardization and transformation initiatives closely aligning with the business priorities.

Objectives of this role:

  • Be a Single Point of Contact [SPOC] to client Finance Controller for the entire scope of activities managed by Accenture as well as external parties such as tax consultants and provide regular comprehensive updates.
  • Identify areas of improvement, and develop, implement, maintain process controls in line with SOX guidelines.
  • Maximize process efficiency and drive value to the client through standardization and transformation initiatives.
  • Be a techno-functional expert and play an advisory role to the Finance Controller to take effective decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all process reviews, such as Reconciliations, Journal Entries, Cash Forecast, PL and BS variance analysis, month-close, process controls.
  • Oversee the day-to-day deliverables of various Centre of Excellence (back office) teams with dynamic leadership that helps resolve issues promptly.
  • Drive reconciliation “open item” resolution by closely coordinating with Accenture, client and external parties.
  • Oversee monthly close reporting activities and report close updates with controller, support Finance controller in presentation of financials to CFO.
  • Oversee and support day-to-day statutory and tax milestones including, Direct, Indirect, and other taxes filings and payments.
  • Directly manage BPO scope of audit with statutory auditors including providing all input reports and addressing queries independently.
  • Drive process improvements through effective ideation, testing and executing automation initiatives.
  • Drive end-to-end metrics performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ten or more years of professional accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, financial data analysis, and tax and audit processes.
  • Conceptual understanding of tax regulations.
  • Experience in managing end-to-end accounting processes and controls.
  • Strong in verbal and written communication.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting is a must.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant) is preferred but not mandatory.
