About the Role:

We are looking for a highly organized and creatively driven Motion Designer with strong editorial instincts and proven experience working with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems. This role is ideal for someone who can take a brief, grasp the story quickly, and dive directly into sourcing and assembling compelling footage & motion graphics into thoughtful narratives—without needing step-by-step guidance.

You should be equally comfortable cutting marketing content, video series, documentary-style edits, and montage or VO-driven storytelling. Bonus points if you have experience writing or directing small projects independently and can think like a filmmaker as well as an editor.

  • Experience

Candidate with at least 7+ years of hands-on experience on static and animated content creation. . The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of storytelling, design aesthetics, and animation principles, with hands-on experience in creating compelling motion graphics for digital platforms, social media, marketing campaigns, and brand communication.

You will collaborate closely with creative directors, graphic designers, video editors, and marketing teams to conceptualize and execute high-quality motion content that aligns with brand guidelines and business objectives.

  • Education:

Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Production, Communications, or a related field preferred (or equivalent professional experience). Formal or informal training in film editing, storytelling, or post-production workflows is a plus.

  • Skills:

-X years of professional editing experience in a production company, content agency, or in-house studio. (depending on level)

-Proven experience working on films, video series, or short-form documentaries.

-Familiarity with montage editing, voiceover-driven narratives, and crafting emotion through music and pacing.

-Experience writing or directing small video projects (self-initiated or commissioned).

-Proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop a plus).

-Confident working independently with a DAM system to source, organize, and build edits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Editorial Editing: Interpret briefs and scripts with a critical eye to build cohesive, engaging narratives that support the project's goals.
  • Motion planning & execution: Create engaging motion graphics, animated videos, and visual content for digital, social media, web, and marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure Animations principles: Translate scripts, storyboards, and creative briefs into high-quality animations based on brand’s guidelines/motion principles. Design and animate 2D motion graphics, typography animations, explainer videos, reels, ads, and promotional videos. Work on video editing, sound design integration, and final output rendering.
  • Footage Discovery: Navigate our DAM system efficiently to source relevant footage, interviews, b-roll, and archival content.
  • Story Building: Craft strong narrative arcs, whether for short brand films, documentary-style episodes, or montage-driven voiceover pieces.
  • Voice + Structure: Shape raw material into refined, emotionally resonant work with thoughtful pacing, rhythm, and structure.
  • Light Directing/Writing Input: Occasionally write short scripts, VO lines, or direct small-scale shoots when needed.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with creative directors, producers, writers, and motion designers.
  • Sound & Music: Select appropriate VO talent, music, and sound design to elevate storytelling.
  • Asset Management: Maintain organized project files, media, and sequences for team accessibility.
  • Video mastering for broadcast standards: Ensure assets are optimized for the channels where they are being uploaded, including an eye on bit rates/s, colour spaces and sound levels.

In addition the motion artist must -

  • Clearly articulate concepts and ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain a meticulous eye for detail to ensure flawless final outputs.
  • Analyzing the work received from client/onshore and identify the missing elements in the same.
  • Have Strong visual aesthetics, attention to detail
  • Stay updated with the latest motion design trends, tools, and digital formats.
  • Optimize content for various platforms (Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, OTT, Websites).
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Maintain a meticulous eye for detail to ensure flawless final outputs.
  • Prepare output files ensuring they meet industry standards.
  • Communicates with clients on call, chat, email
  • Problem solving skills

  • Possesses a thorough understanding of Graphic Process
  • Able to devise ideas quickly
  • Flexible to work in shifts, efficient in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Portfolio Requirements:

  • A strong reel or portfolio with individual projects clearly labelled,  showcasing motion graphics, animations, and video editing projects.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools exemplified:
    • Adobe After Effects
    • Adobe Premiere Pro
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe Media Encoder
  • Include at least one project that demonstrates:
    • Editorial storytelling (narrative structure, emotional arc)
    • Use of voiceover and montage
    • Experience working with sourced material (e.g., from a DAM or archival footage)
    • (Optional) Any self-directed, scripted or experimental work, or Cinema 4D / Blender (preferred)

Bonus Skills:

  • Understanding of branded content, social media formats, and cross-platform editing.
  • Knowledge of UI motion/interaction design.
  • Experience in working with marketing, advertising, or digital agencies.
  • Basic understanding of video production workflows and codecs.
  • Experience using Frame.io or other collaborative review tools.
  • Light colour grading and audio mixing skills.
  • Creative thinking & storytelling
  • Collaboration & communication skills
