Geographic Compliance & Corporate (GCC) Role Summary – To provide comprehensive support to business teams and other areas of Accenture, which includes support on compliance with laws and internal policies, corporate matters, legal research, legal judgements, corporate matters and risk mitigation, using various tools and methodologies. Handle responsibilities related to people and process management.

Specific Responsibilities aligned to the Role

  • Act as local Data Privacy legal advisor and point of contact for cross legal areas reviews related to Accenture internal data processing e.g. platforms, applications, tools and systems.

  • Understand and apply Accenture Data Privacy policies to ensure compliance and act as local Data Privacy specialist for The Netherlands.

  • Provide data privacy and other general / compliance advice to Accenture Corporate Functions in The Netherlands (e.g. Workplace, Marketing, HR, Corporate Citizenship, IT).

  • Liaise with global DPO and the DPO network to advise on privacy impact assessments and data privacy audits.

  • Actively follow and advise on local regulatory guidelines and changes in law.

  • Act as co-owner of various local legal documentation, such as Accenture’s local Dawn Raid Plan.

  • Identify potential areas of legal/compliance vulnerability and risk, develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provide guidance on how to avoid or deal with such issues from a local legal perspective.

  • Collaborate and consult with other legal functions to ensure key legal/compliance issues are identified and sent to appropriate channels for review (e.g. Employment Legal).

  • Supervise management of SharePoint, Teams sites and communication records, ensure regular updates of handbooks, training materials or other process documents for the region.

  • Identify and implement new initiatives in the GCC support area, ability to represent the Global Legal Network (“GLN”), direct liaison with internal stakeholders on various issues, identify and drive trainings for the GLN teams for upskilling and professional development.

  • Drive recruitment efforts for the GLN team, provide coaching and mentoring to junior members of the team, effective management of direct reports and team; quick conflict resolution, provide feedback to team members and drive talent discussions for the team.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Dutch Law.

  • Data Privacy and Compliance related global professional certification considered a plus.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 to 13 years of experience at law firm or as in-house counsel.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English.

  • Fluency in Dutch.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Experience in generic legal in-house matters, focused on Data Privacy compliance, including but not limited to risk identification and mitigation, compliance, legal research, etc.

  • Demonstrate very good interpersonal skills, demonstrate promptness, accuracy and consistency with the activities supported, drive tasks to closure, is detail-oriented, with sound judgement, adaptable, with strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.

  • Able to work with internal and external teams, and understands delivery requirements, takes end-to-end responsibility of projects and teams, on function specific processes.

  • Good understanding of Accenture offerings and function specific services performed, of commercial agreements, legal and compliance fundamentals, of corporate business practices and contracting regulations.

  • Build trust-based relationships by delivering on commitments, ability to work under pressure, with exposure to senior management.

  • Effectively manage priorities and stakeholder expectations.

  • Comfortable with technology and has experience in the use of tools & databases.
