Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, you will engage in the development of custom software solutions that are designed to meet specific business needs. Your typical day will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, code, and enhance various components across systems or applications. You will utilize modern frameworks and agile practices to ensure the delivery of scalable and high-performing solutions, while also addressing any challenges that arise during the development process. Your role will require a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in software development practices.

The Dynatrace Observability Engineer supports the design, implementation, and operation of end to end observability across applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms using Dynatrace. The engineer collaborates with development, SRE, operations, and platform teams to deliver consistent monitoring, operational visibility, and observability insights.
The engineer focuses on implementing observability standards, supporting incident analysis, and ensuring consistent visibility across systems through effective use of Dynatrace capabilities.

Primary Skill: Dynatrace APM
Good To Have Skills: Experience with Splunk, Datadog.

Required knowledge & Experience
Hands on experience with Dynatrace Observability
o OneAgent deployment and lifecycle activities
o Management zones, tagging strategies, and access configuration
o Dashboard creation, alert configuration, and tuning
Understanding of metrics, logs, and distributed tracing
Experience supporting Davis AI problem analysis and incident triage
Ability to perform AI driven RCA and noise reduction activities
Ability to analyze runtime system behavior and service dependencies
Understanding of capacity trends from an observability perspective
Adherence to defined observability standards and documentation practices
Dynatrace Associate Certification (preferred)
Ability to design scalable telemetry pipelines with sampling, filtering, and enrichment
Ability to analyze runtime behavior and service dependencies using traces and metrics

GenAI & Tooling Skills (nice to have)
Awareness of GenAI / Agentic AI concepts in IT operations
Ability to execute defined automation rules or prompts
Analytical skills to validate AI generated insights

Key Responsibilities
Implement Dynatrace onboarding for applications and environments
Configure dashboards, alerts, and monitoring views
Support incident investigation and RCA
Apply reusable observability patterns and best practices
Integrate Dynatrace with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) for incident creation, correlation, and tracking
Provide observability support during production issues, outages, and stabilization activities
Support AMS / production operations
Maintain observability documentation
Participate in knowledge sharing sessions
Deploy and manage OpenTelemetry Collectors (agent and gateway modes)
Configure telemetry pipelines for metrics, logs, and traces
- Expected to be an SME.
- Collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Continuously evaluate and improve development processes to increase efficiency.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Dynatrace APM.
- Good To Have Skills: Experience with Splunk, Datadog.
- Strong understanding of application performance monitoring and optimization.
- Experience with modern software development frameworks and methodologies.
- Proficient in coding languages relevant to software development.

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Dynatrace APM.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
